#MeToo Because I lost count of all the times I've been sexually harassed in my lifetime, or how young it even started. Because it is something that maybe not all men perpetrate, but ALL WOMEN face. Because the fact that almost every female-identifying person on my friends list has also posted about this happening to them does not surprise me one bit. Because it's easy to shift the narrative from listening to women's experiences & believing them to hatred for men - but to do so would be missing the point entirely. This isn't about men's feelings of victimhood (though most certainly many men have also experienced this type of harassment), this is about women being given a place to speak up about what we face every day. Again it doesn't surprise me to see that most every woman I know has countless stories of harassment, but the fact that it does surprise some (mostly men) IS the point. We face this every day and could be subjected to it at any time, in any place, wearing any clothing. We live this, we know this and it's time for you all to know it too. It needs to stop and the first step is becoming aware of the magnitude of this problem that has always been there. Let's do something so our daughters don't ever have to say Me Too. #ThisIsWhyImAFeminist

first of all we’ve got these four talented and racially diverse ladies with healthy body types singing and dancing to songs about female friendships 

and empowering women

they literally have a song called “cinderella” about not needing a man

and in the movie sequels they travel to spain and india 

where supporting characters have actual character arcs and aren’t just “cultural decoration”

oh look bilingual songs

it doesn’t hurt that the whitney houston produced the first two movies

it’s so important that we had something like the cheetah girls to be primarily targeted towards young girls on disney channel
