I don't really get why people are saying Ruby and Sapphire "fell in love too fast". I'm pretty sure through the course of their song, a whole lot of time was passing. They clearly weren't in "love at first sight" though.
I really need people to use their brains when it comes to Ruby X Sapphire's "love at first sight" and calling Garnet a procreate. It's an 11 minute show, we basically got as much of a montage as we could to show Ruby and Sapphire's courting process. Their love did take time, that why physically Raw Garnet was a (beautiful) mess and the Garnet we have now is so put together.
I'm getting sick of people claiming Garnet or to be precise Ruby and Sapphire are hypocrites because of the answer you do know that much like Beauty and the beast's Something there has the two falling in love over time in the song much like something there starts in fall and ends in winter where much like Belle and Beast the two had time to develop love.
People says that Ruby and Sapphire relationship's went to fast,but i like to think that it taked a lot of time,think about it : They talk about 5750 years ago,and the war ended like 5000 years ago,so maybe in the song that was like 1 min for them lasted like 50/100 years,idk i suppose that
i feel like Ruby and Sapphire didn't fall in love immediately because Garnet's first... "form" was very mismatched and didn't really blend both gems together. I would say it was more of a... mutual crush, and Ruby admiring and protecting Sapphire and Sapphire finding Ruby interesting (& cute) because her whole future has changed like what. They probably had crushes on each other then (not gonna deny) but perhaps they developed that first bond... AND THEN GARNET BECAME GARNET (if you get me).
I don’t get the people who say that “Ruby and Sapphire fell in love too fast” or that “Garnet was a hypocrite to Jaime”. Is the fandom really that young?
First of all, we don’t know how much time they spent together before bumping into Rose and Pearl. Second, what we were shown was Ruby and Sapphire’s courtship period, before they committed to being a serious relationship by fusing into Garnet. Love still takes time and work! You don’t fall in love and then its happily ever after. That’s not how life works. Ruby and Sapphire have maintained a balanced relationship for 5000+ years and Garnet is a walking depiction of that. She was talking from 5000+ years of experience when she told Jaime that love takes time and work.
