Same, all the ones I really want are representative of different things in my life. I want different animals to represent the spirits of people close to me who have passed on on my left shoulder (I've actually drawn out a design for this, which I think is pretty cool), with budding flowers or tree branches down either the other side of my arm (forming a half-sleeve) or down my other arm, to represent new life coming into my family like my nieces, nephews, and godson. While I occasionally come up with some things that are purely aesthetic, the other things I really want are words, a bible passage, a native american prayer, a native american parable, etc. Oh, and a large, Old English D on my left shoulderblade to represent my true hometown: Detroit.
But I worry that I'm just getting caught up in something faddish, and when I look in the mirror, I'm just starting to like myself for who I am, and it feels a little weird to change it. I don't feel I NEED a tattoo, I just kinda want these.
