Thinking about a genderbent The Hazards of Love…

How would William’s dynamic with Margaret and the Forest Queen change if he was female, if he was the one to get pregnant? What if the Forest Queen was the Forest King instead? Would her behavior be different? Since Margaret’s gentleness in the very beginning is credited by the narrator to the fact that she is a woman (“a credit to her sex” in the Hazards of Love 1), would that somehow change if she’d been raised male, perhaps expected to kill trapped animals instead of helping them? What about the Rake? Would his motives for murder be presented differently? Or would it all stay the same?

Character explorations of Rindhelm and gang... gonna be calling their story ‘Starblood’- after the substance that made Thol the richest man to ever exist, which allows anyone injected with it to exist in space without a suit or oxygen.
