The Tudors (2007 - 2010), created by Michael Hirst
Epic series reveals the scandalous life of a young king whose affairs and obsession with producing a male heir changed marriage, the church, and the world.
"Oh, Mr and Mrs. Darcy produced such fine young gentlemen, if I may say. Why, they might just be the most well-mannered and exceptional young men of my acquaintance!
..Well, on occasion. But, what does one expect, they are only boys. Oh, but how I wish at least one of them could behave like the refined and high-standing young men they are, and not run around causing mayhem wherever they go.."

"Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room? Soon, that attitude may be your doom."
- "Non-Stop" from Hamilton
Edmund Darcy is the eldest of the Darcy children and he certainly acts like it. Everyone always says that he's like a more sociable version of his father, but, if you asked Mr. Darcy himself, Edmund is the most like his mother out of all of their children, without a doubt. He's never been the type to keep his opinions to himself, and is sure to let someone know if he disagrees with them. No matter what someone says to him, he'll shoot back with something so sharp and full of wit that it stuns the room into silence. He argues like its a sport, and he hasn't lost a game yet. He holds on to grudges like they're a lifeline, so much so that he's still angry at the boy who shoved him while he and his family were at the lake during the summer. He was six years old then. Elizabeth always thought he would make a fine lawyer someday, but Darcy always said he would be a politician one day. But one thing is for certain. No matter what he chooses to do, he’s sure to make an impact on the world in some way.

"Excuse me for a second, while I bang my head against this wall."
- "For You" by TV Girl
Simon Darcy was always drawn to music. Even as a baby, whenever him and his family would go to visit his aunt Georgiana, he would sit at her feet while she played the piano, staring up at her in wide-eyed wonder. When Elizabeth caught onto this, she began teaching him how to actually play. These piano lessons quickly became the highlight of Simon's day, and soon he was playing to his heart's content in the music room all by himself. Edmund would sometimes encourage him to play whenever they had guests over, to entertain them, and whenever Simon would agree (despite being embarrassed), he absolutely amazed them every time while his parents watched in silent pride. Simon is also just passionate about the arts in general. He loves poetry, and even writes some of his own (he'd die before any of his brothers knew that though..) and he also likes composing his own music. He especially loves painting. He spends hours slaving over his canvas and makes it obvious when he's going through a creative drought (art block hits him hard). Like his father, Simon is heavily introverted, and has always preferred his solitude over the company of others. All he needs is his books and some peace and quiet to make him happy. But, with brothers like his, that's a very hard thing to get. He loves them, but they make him want to tear his hair out at times..

THE TWINS
PHILIP DARCY
the wild child, the chaos gremlin, the adventurer
and
BENEDICT DARCY
the consul, the animal lover, the caregiver
"Slow down, you crazy child, you’re so ambitious for a juvenile."
- "Vienna" by Billy Joel
"Its so easy to laugh, its so easy to hate, it takes strength to be gentle and kind."
- "I Know Its Over" by The Smiths
Philip and Benedict Darcy are like night and day. They always have been and they always will be. They may be identical twins, but that's about where their similarities end. But at the same time, they make for quite the dynamic duo. Benedict is the sugar, Philip is the spice.
Philip Darcy has always been filled with more energy than his tiny little body could ever possibly contain. Whether it was jumping out from corners to scare the maids and then running off while cackling like a little witch, chasing girls with frogs and trying to make them kiss them, or placing bugs near people's feet just to give them a scare when they looked down, Philip always seemed to be getting into trouble. He loves pranks, and one could even say its his love language, almost. There's only two things that have always been on his mind: fencing and horseback riding. But now that he's a teenager, girls seem to have become the third thing always on his mind. He does tricks on the back of his horse, William, to try and impress girls taking a stroll by the property, and Elizabeth and Darcy (and also Edmund) have to practically watch him like a hawk at parties and balls to make sure he doesn't try and run after the first pretty face he sees.. But at the end of the day, Philip is fiercely loyal to his family (and everyone else he cares about) and once he sets his mind to something, good luck trying to persuade him otherwise.
Known to most as simply Benny (a nickname Elizabeth has called him since he was a child, and everyone else simply started to call him that as well), Benedict Darcy has always been the type to wear his heart on his sleeve. He was the type of child to cry over a bug getting squished because “that bug might have had a family..” This inevitably led to some of his peers teasing him, but Elizabeth was always quick to defend her son by saying there is no shame in a young man having emotions and showing them. He has a love for all things small and furry with cute noses, and he secretly houses a rabbit in the garden that he found while trying to get some solitude from his twin’s antics. When his parents found out about it, Darcy wanted to get rid of it, but his wife pointed out that it was a bit late for that, as Benedict had already named the rabbit Percival (Though Benedict just calls him Percy). So Darcy gave up. When he’s in town, the stray dogs and cats follow him around, as he’s fed and petted all of them at least once, and it makes him giddy every time.

"It feels so scary getting old."
- "Ribs" by Lorde
If Edmund is the most similar to Elizabeth, then Thomas Darcy is easily the most similar to Darcy. He was, quite literally, a miracle. His birth was very stressful, and the boys and Darcy were terrified they were going to lose both Elizabeth and Thomas. But, thankfully, they both made it. The doctor told the two of them that it would be wise for them to not have any more children, and Darcy was quick to respond that their five boys would be plenty (he knew that he couldn’t handle anymore chaos in his house..) Elizabeth likes to joke that when the doctor handed Thomas to her, he already had a disinterested frown on his tiny little face. Whenever adults would make faces at him or coo at him in attempt to make him laugh, he would just look at them, almost glaring at them, and they’d quietly back off. He followed his mother around like a baby duck, always perched on her hip or sitting on her lap, clutching her sleeve and looking at everyone else with suspicious eyes. He also has a bit of a short temper at times, and makes it quite obvious he has no patience for Philip’s shenanigans (which also makes him Philip’s prime target..) Though Thomas may seem like a boy with more pride than his small body can manage, he actually has a softer side to him. Like when he speaks to his teddy bear Timothy late at night like he can hear and understand him, or when he picks flowers for his mother in the garden. Deep down, he’s actually quite scared of growing up, and the thought of his brothers one day leaving the house to find wives and have children of their own terrifies him. He needs them terribly, no matter how vexing they are at times. Though he won’t give any of his brothers the satisfaction of hearing him say that out loud (Especially not Philip, God knows he doesn’t need his ego to be inflated any further..)
