“ I haven’t slept in four days… ” -thomas tmr prompt
Barely even knowing what I was doing or where I was going, I let my legs do the walking around the Glade without actually telling my brain to order them where, I just let them go freely.
Inevitably, I bumped into someone. I was so weak that they had to hold me up by holding me by the arm.
“Y/N” Thomas’ voice told me gravely. “You okay?”
“You’re right, it was my fault” I mumbled, his words not really getting through to me.
I looked up to read his expression and noticed his confused face. For some reason I found it funny and laughed as though I was tipsy. Being so tired always caused the same effect on me that alcohol did, or at least Gally’s moonshine.
“You look exhausted” Thomas observed, looking to his right.
It was only then that I noticed Chuck was standing next to him, watching the scene with concern. Mainly staring at me.
“You too” Was my instinctive response, for whatever reason. “I’m not making much sense, am I?”
“Have you been sleeping good lately?” He suddenly rushed to hold me by the waist, which made me wonder if I had swayed.
“Your Newt is showing, Tommy” I chuckled, although I rested my hand on his shoulder and used his sturdy stance for support.
“You’re not making much sense, no”
“I haven’t slept in four days…”
“Let’s get you to the Homestead” Briefly looking over his shoulder to Chuck. Thomas then properly wrapped my frame, his hand still on my waist, and began walking with me. “I’ll tell to Newt and Alby later”
“Thanks, Greenie” I plopped down on his shoulder hard, making him totter even if he kept us both stable. “You’re a sweetheart”
“Why haven’t you slept in four days?” He uttered, completely ignoring my comment. “Can’t you fall asleep?”
Even though my mind was too tired to realize, I knew there was something dark and unsettling behind my insomnia. And something told me it had to do with those walls around us.
“It probably hit you, didn’t it? Like Newt said…” Thomas kept talking, uncomfortable with my silence. “There’s no escape…”
I just nuzzled my nose in his neck and let him take me wherever he wanted. I forgot where we were headed already.
“Don’t worry, Y/N” Thomas whispered, gently holding me close to him. “I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep. You don’t have to be scared or anxious”
My eyes fluttered shut all of a sudden. His presence was providing me with something I hadn’t felt in at least four days: a sense of safety.
I had a feeling that I would have to apologize to so many people the next day because of the things I had done while sleep deprived. But at least I would finally get some sleep.
