Ok no sorry, but scifi books honestly never really hold my attention for long, right? They never have, I don’t think. I’m more into gothic classics and fantasy, if anything.

But Project Hail Mary? As soon as I opened that book, I was immediately sucked in and I never wanted to put it down. Andy Weir’s writing style is just so immersive and enjoyable and every new plot turn had me begging for more time to read it!!!

The characters are honestly so believable for the situation they’re in, and just everything about Rocky and Ryland is just perfect.

I especially really liked Stratt’s character. I love how she, despite being vaguely remorseful for it, still forced Ryland into that ship. She did awful things to save humanity, and it just. Idk. Her character was really interesting to me

I’m so glad I rediscovered Emmerdale when I did. 

I used to watch it when I was a kid because my parents were avid fans. I stopped when I moved out and then, upon hearing about Robert and Aaron’s story, I decided to dive back in. 

I’ve been slowly watching their story unfold thanks to a YouTube user who posted their entire storyline. I’m always interested in seeing queer representation on TV, especially in British soaps where in the past it’s left a lot to be desired. 

What I didn’t expect was to find comfort in a fictional character who has gone through similar experiences to me. Aaron’s storylines have helped me come to terms with my own self-harm issues and the shame I felt over the resulting scars and gave me the courage and encouragement I needed to open up to my husband about the abuse I experienced as a child. That’s what drew me to become part of the fandom and to start writing.

Honestly I don’t know where I’m going with this but writing it down and putting it out there makes me feel better. Also, I suppose you could consider it me introducing myself? 

So hi followers! My name is Thomas, I’m British but I moved to Canada a couple of years ago when I married my Canadian husband. I like tea, the sound of rain and cheesy music ;)
