About a year or so ago I bought a high end turning gouge from #thompsonlathetools. After speaking to Dave (the owner), he convinced me to make a handle for it myself. I got a beautiful piece of plum from the Governor's Mansion in Columbia, SC. It split terribly while drying and I saw a chance to try an epoxy stabilization. When I finally cowboyed up and did it, this was the result.
