Part one Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
The night of the celebration, everything went wrong. Frost giants got into the palace, Her father started a war with Jotunheim after going there to smash heads, and he was stripped of his powers and sent to Midgard. Needless to say, it was the worst day of her life. Figga stayed with her through the night, as Ora couldn’t stop crying.
“Please darling,” Frigga pleaded. “Try to get some rest.”
“I-I can’t! He’s gone!” Ora cried, burying her face into her pillow.
“Darling. He’s not gone. He’s just on Midgard. You’re grandfather is very angry with him.”
“Well I’m very angry with Grandfather!” She yelled. “He sent my father away from me!”
Figga sighed. “Darling. Please keep your voice down. You’re uncle Loki won’t be happy if you wake him with your yelling”
Looking over at the door they see Loki standing there, arms crossed and frown on his face.
“Do you have any idea what time it is. How is anyone supposed to get any sleep around here if you’re shouting.” He snapped.
“I-I’m Sorry Uncle… I… I’m just sad.” Ora looked down, playing with the fabric of her nightdress.
he sighed and walked to the bed. “Why don’t you go to bed, Mother. I’ll sit with her.”
“Thank you, Loki. Goodnight you two” she stood and walked out the door, softly closing it behind her.
“Goodnight Mother.” He said and sat with Ora. The room was quiet.
“I didn’t mean to wake you Uncle” she spoke softly, curling up next to him and resting her head on his lap as he pulled her soft, purple bed sheets over her. “He’s just so far away, what if he never comes back?”
“Don’t worry. He’ll be back. You’re here, and he wouldn’t ever want to leave you alone. You’re far too precious to him.” He gently rubbed circles on her back, calming her and allowing her to settle down. “You’ll see him again soon, Little one.”
She nodded. “I love you Uncle Loki.”
He smiled. “I love you too, Ora.”
She smiles and slowly drifted off to sleep.
The God of Mischief looked down upon the sleeping girl, his niece and daughter of his brother. How could such an arrogant man raise such a child. Smart and fierce, kind yet cunning, sneaky but clumsy and she took after Thor. ‘She must have gotten the good qualities from her mother’ he thought as he slipped her head from his lap and placed a pillow under it. Standing from her bed he cast a spell, leaving a green glow in the air, the same spell he would use to calm himself when he couldn’t sleep. He stared at the girl, remembering the asgardian woman who was her mother. He knew it was a sore subject with his brother but he was mad at him for not telling Ora about her. She was a wonderful woman and his brother did love her so. Even Odin and Frigga cared for the girl. When they found out she was pregnant with Ora they were upset at first for Thor’s lack of caution, but after a while they welcomed the idea of a grandchild, they were excited. When she was born, Odin was the first to hold her and he fell in love instantly. Though he seemed a little hesitant about her being a girl but he slowly warmed up to the idea. The moment Thor was handed his daughter his world changed. She was so tiny and frail and he knew he would do anything for her. When she opened her eyes he about melted in his boots. she had her mothers beautiful emerald eyes, with little golden fleck in them. Everything was perfect. But the joyous moment quickly faded when her mother stopped breathing suddenly along with her heartbeat. The doctors tried everything they could but it was too late, she was gone. Thor once said that he may never stop grieving, and that he may never love another. But things on Midgard changed him, and after helping a group of people who called themselves The Avengers stop Loki, he went back to Midgard to his daughter and told her all about them. About the Man of Iron who’s suit form around him in armor. A soldier in a striped uniform named Steve who only used a shield and fought alongside with a quiet man who turned green and angry, smashing everything. And a red haired woman who kicked more ass than anyone he’d ever met, and a man who brought a bow and arrow to an alien invasion.
Ora laughed. “They sound like wonderful people, father.”
“Indeed they are, little one,” Thor spoke as he looked upon his grown daughter. Her hair had grown down to her waist and was weaves into an intricate braid that had lilac colored ribbon strung through it, the Golden strands framed her face, giving a soft glow to the pale skin underneath. Her soft pink lips curled up at the corners “You look like a Midgardian teenager, Ora”
“Is that a compliment, Father?” She questioned, sipping her tea.
“Depending on the teenager.” He replied and they both chuckled. “All I’m saying is you would blend in with them. You look so youthful”
“Thank you. Tell me more about Midgard. Please. I know much about it. I’ve read the books and studied it all but, it must be different in person. Tell me about everything, Father”
Thor looked at his daughter and saw the wonder in her eyes.”I tell you what Ora.” He stands. “Why don’t I just bring you to Midgard?”
She gasped loudly. “Really?!”
“Really. Go get ready. We’ll leave soon.” He said and kissed the top of her head. “And wear shoes, little one.”
Ora stood and stared running out. “You can’t make me! You know I hate shoes!”
“Ora! Shoes!” He yelled, chuckling and running after her.
“No!” She called back, navigating through the corridors of the palace. Chase was one of their favorite games ever since Ora was little. Everyone in the palace enjoyed it too. The guards found it fun to watch and Frigga and Odin sometimes got in on the fun. “You’ll have to catch me Father!”
“If I catch you you’re wearing shoes!”
“And when you don’t, I won’t wear them!” She laughed, knowing that her quarters where only a hall away and that he’s never beat her in a game of chase. She slid around the corner on her side, gliding under the legs of a guard. “Hey Marth!” She yelled, getting to her feet and continuing to run. “Block my father for me!”
“I’ll try Ora.” He responded, smiling and shaking his head as Thor rounded the corner giving chase to the goddess.
“Marth you trader! You were supposed to stop her!”
“My apologies my prince, I couldn’t ruin her winning streak.”
She laughed and grabbed her door handle. “I’m sorry Father, but I can not be beat.” She smirked and closed her doors.
“So it seems little one. Now hurry up and get ready. I’ll inform Heimdall of our impending journey”
“Okay!” Ora yelled through the thick oak doors. It only took her a few minutes to get ready. She has chosen her favorite clothes to wear to Midgard, dark leather pants with the same pattern of folds down the sides as her Uncle wore on his chest and matching top that zipped up the middle, both in a dark purple with the same cape as her father's draped behind her only hers was lilac colored. She looked in the mirror and gave a quick spin, letting her caps flow behind her. Throwing on a few pieces of jewelry, she ran out to meet her father.
“This is so exciting! You’re taking me to Midgard! I’ve read all the books, ancient scrolls, everything the mentions Midgard I’ve read Father so you do not have to worry about me being lost or confused because I know it all!”
Thor smiled and clasped his hand on her shoulder. “Yes, but as you said it’s much different to be there rather than to read about it. Stay close to me when we’re there alright little one?”
“yes father.” She responded as they walked down the bridge toward Heimdalls observatory. “But May I explore this ‘New York’ a bit on my own?”
“Were not going to New York, little one.” He said, placing his hand on her shoulder.
“Oh. Then where are we going?”
“New Mexico. There’s someone I want you to meet.”
Traveling through the Bifrost was unlike anything Ora had experienced before. The colors surrounding her whirled around as they traveled through space, her Father’s hair whipped around his head as he held her close to make sure she stayed safe on her first trip through the Bifrost.
“We’re almost there!” He yelled. “Hold tight on landing!”
“Alright!” She yelled and held her Father tighter. She felt them moving down and braced herself for impact. Her father’s feet hit the ground before hers. Opening her eyes and setting her feet on the ground, she looked around as realized she was finally on Midgard. It looked a little more… barren than she expected. “Are we on Midgard?” She questioned, letting go of him and taking a few steps away taking in her surroundings.
“Indeed we are. This is what they call New Mexico. A state in America.” He responded. “Our ride will be here soon.” He smiled.
Just as she asked, she saw a dust trail moving towards them with a vehicle speeding towards the pair. It pulled up and the doors opened, allowing two women to step out.
“Come Ora. These are my friends.” He clasped his hand on her shoulder and lead her over to the pair of women. Pointing to the shorter woman with dark curly hair, “This is Darcy.”
“So this is your kid?” The woman named Darcy asked. “She doesn’t look like a kid. She looks… eh.. Maybe like 15?”
“I’m much older than that let me assure you.” Ora spoke, extending her hand out for Darcy to shake. “Orabelle. But please call me Ora.”
She turned back to her Father and the other woman.
“And this is Jane Foster.” He smiled and looked at her in a loving way. She looked back at him the same.
“Wait…” Ora spoke softly as he slipped an arm around Janes waist.
The woman smiled. “It’s nice to meet you, your dad had told me so much about you.”
“Really. My father hasn’t told me a thing about you, Lady Jane.” She spoke with a bit of poison in her voice.
“Oh.” Jane responded and dismissed the comment with a wave of her hand. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll have some coffee and talk. Come on. We know a good place, right Thor?”
“Come Ora. You will enjoy this strange drink. But do not throw the cup on the ground, they do not like that here.”
“Oh. um.. Alright.” She said as they all got in the Jeep and headed back towards the town.
