At the end of each chapter of Slow Damage, Towa has a moment with the big “villain” of the chapter to unmask their true darkest desire and fulfill it for them.
They’re always asking him to commit a horrible act of violence against them to fufil their own desires, and subsequently his.
The first chapter centered around Ikuina. At the climax of the chapter, he asked Towa to take his hunting knife and cut him. He was fascinated with Towa’s scars and desired much more than the self-mutilation he’d been inflicting on himself to stave off his urges.
A sultry jazz track plays in the background while Ikuina and our protagonist cut deep lacerations into each others’ skin, losing alarming amounts of blood. They’re both visibly erect, panting and grunting both in pain and arousal.
The biggest and deepest laceration was torn down their sternums, from between their pecs to their naval. When they’d had enough, they collapsed chest-to-chest on the bed, rubbing their cuts together. The sfx in the back is this vile squelching sound. Their blood is combining. Ikuina is softly moaning Towa’s name, and Towa is grunting nonchalantly.
Sound effects, text, the moaning, it’s admittedly very arousing. They never had sex, the only traditionally sexual thing about the scene was the mention of Ikuina’s erection and their euphoric sounds.
It legit felt like watching porn lol. I remember my breath feeling labored and I was tapped tf in.
My thoughts-- I think in general sex and violence (like my pseudo-intellectual intro) trigger the same thing in the human brain. I haven’t researched it but I’m 100% sure I’m correct. I think this is why people get so addicted to porn the same way they do gore. The primal part of our brain is tapped into that primal stimulus. But what do I know.
It was so brilliantly written the way Towa and Ikuina shared intimacy. Homoeroticism in general is very sexy. Honestly, I prefer eroticism over explicit sex acts. The squelch of the wounds pressing together was so intimate, like exposing their most intimate parts to each other, literally. Seeing something that nobody else will get to see.
Chapter 2 followed in a similar vein to chapter 1. Kirihara asked for Towa to beat him to near-death to feel the abuse that his brother inflicted on him growing up. Of course, they were both beating each other to a bloody pulp while grinding their erections together. Kirihara was moaning “Nii-chan” (which I’m sure appealed to the brother-complex people out there...)
Again, 10/10, so intimate without focusing on sexual intimacy.
This is why I love Slow Damage so much honestly, scenes like those are so erotic without being sexual.
The violence and blood is a stand-in for sexuality. I know Towa has sex with other characters later on but I just finished chapter 2 and I needed to glaze. This game is SO good
