So in “Portal Enemy”, Hiro built new jet thrusters into his boots and arms, allowing him to keep up with the much more nimble and quick Sirque.
Interestingly, this upgrade doesn’t appear in any episode past this (as far as I am aware). It probably would have served him really well when fighting Trina if he could control the darned things. Now, obviously this is a somewhat blatant shout-out to the most famous person in comics that deals with jet thrusters and is also encased in a suit of armor...Iron Man.
I’m assuming that Hiro didn’t get to put the Unibeam in as well because...reasons. Also, imagine Hiro shooting out a Unibeam in the first place. It’s pretty funny to think about.
But that’s not really what came to my mind while I was at work today.
If Hiro is the Iron Man shout-out...then who would be the Pepper Potts to his Tony Stark?
Most people would obviously assume Karmi for pairing purposes, but that’s not the part that I was thinking.
It would have to be someone who would not only have some sort of relationship with him, but someone who has worn the armor before, since Pepper has her own as Rescue.
And in one particular cartoon (Iron Man: Armored Adventures), she had one that specialized in stealth.
Now, who do we know that has has gone on adventures with Hiro, is also a little pushy and headstrong just like Pepper, and has worn stealth armor that is also suspiciously purple?
Oh, that’s right. It’s Megan.
To be fair, the circumstances that Megan got to wear the armor for the first time are a tad bit different than Pepper’s. Megan was simply helping Hiro with finding out about the Buddy Guardians. Pepper had a building fall on her and had to get a node surgically implanted into her chest to stay alive. Only after that did she end up donning the Rescue armor.
I think it’s just interesting to think about. I’m not saying that Megan is this universe’s Pepper, but if a couple things had been changed and Megan had stayed around for S3...
I do wonder if Megan would have been coming to their rescue at some point.
Or maybe becoming their Rescue.
