SEND ME “HC” + A WORD AND I’LL WRITE A HEADCANON ABOUT IT RE: MY CHARACTER

POWER can represent many a nuanced meaning, and the Schrift which Meninas bears + the way it represents her ideology is no exception.
Very early on in her life, Meninas experienced a number of traumatic events that largely shaped the way she views the world, and perceives social systems such as rank, title, blood ‘purity’, wealth, and the nobility— indisputable pillars of social and economic status that have direct correlations to perceived power. Such structures appear to remain a constant throughout even her brief glimpse at the long history of man. To the greater world, “Power” appears to mean those born with great circumstantial advantages to take greater advantage of those they deem “beneath” them for superficial reasons born out of maintaining egoism. Successes built upon the bodies of those not favored by circumstance such as birth, rank, blood, etc.
Meninas rejects this belief in full, simultaneously exploiting any resources this system offers her for the sake of her own personal gain and the furthering of her goals. She has a strong belief in how the world ought to operate, ultimately despising those who stand above others based off arbitrary material means such as wealth or appearance or social status or blood purity. She believes that those truly strong are the ones who ought to stand above others, rather than remain crushed beneath the oppressive heel of weaklings currently in power; in that sense, she strongly rejects the blood purity aspect of Quincy culture, and the idea of nobility and wealth altogether. That said, she is not above taking advantage of the people in these positions so long as it furthers her own ends.
With regards to herself, a huge part of my characterization is that Meninas believes her worth as a person is based upon how useful she is as a tool to others; in her mind, “usefulness” directly correlates to strength, and she sees herself more as an effective weapon to be entrusted in the hands of others, than as a human. She places great weight on her physical strength and ability, getting stronger with the belief that “if such is her only value, she will become the strongest of all Quincy”. The thought is kept to herself, as if she refuses to acknowledge or admit its truth; or perhaps she is merely on the cusp of fully understanding —but it’s likely that Meninas is at both her ultimate high and ultimate low while in a true fight. She revels in her power, but revels in her pain too; wounding herself again, and again, and again in the name of one purpose, being vengeance.
That said, POWER defined Meninas’ entire identity, the journey she needed to take in order to exact her revenge, and the way her ability manifested in general—long before Yhwach thought himself clever to ascribe her such a Schrift in the first place. POWER is her past, present, and future; as she starves herself on her hunger for more, and as she discards everything in order to stand against God himself.
