Cats were always curious, weren't they? He was a vicious and violent Arrancar but he seemed almost calm as he spoke.

After all, he was simply leaning against a wall, blue eyes focused on the Shinigami alight with a curiosity that had likely never been seen in the taller male before.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIEJIEEEEE 💕💕💕 I hope you enjoy your special day! This year has been really hectic, and I’m glad to have gotten through it with you. When we met, I never thought we’d be this close, and now you’re one of the people I talk to on a daily basis LAWL. Spending time with you is always such a blast, because it’s so much fun. Whether you’re correcting my grammatical errors with your “English teacher😒”, or I’m poking fun at you for saying I’m “skitterish” you were always there to lend a listening ear or a helping hand wherever you could. And I greatly appreciate it. Today we celebrate your birthday. And I hope it’s a great one. Happy birthday, hun. And I hope there are many more. I hope there are many more years to come, filled with laughter, joy, and not to mention much more shenanigans with our silly little characters in our silly heads. If I could describe our interactions whether in character or out of character, I could use one word. Fun. I love making silly faces at you, or cracking jokes with the stupidest punchlines. I'm answering this a few days late, but words can't begin to express how much this meant to me. I'm a bit hesitant to post this, because then it'd be gone from my inbox, and then I won't be able to go back and read it haha.

But truly... thank you. One of the highlights of this year was getting to know you. I love how effortlessly we can talk for hours on end, seemingly about nothing. Whether that was me ranting about work, or an anime that I've watched, or just life in general. Or just laughing about stupid memes. And that works for us.

So really, thank you for making this year a good one, and hoping for many more to come!

Was the thought of him marrying Byakuya such an anomaly that she had to double over in laughter like this? There was no way that would ever happen anyways - some snoot like Byakuya? Marrying a fool like him? Yea. Sure. Someone must have something dirty on his captain for that to happen.

Wiping her eyes, Rukia stifled further laughter. She elbowed Renji playfully, reaching up to muss his hair a bit for good measure.

"Why not?" Renji just shrugs with a purse of his lips. "If ya had to choose one of us t' wear the dress, it'd be Taichou wouldn't it?"

His captain was certainly attractive, and many would agree that 'beautiful' was a word often used to describe him. Although there was without a doubt that he was a man, his beauty levels outshone those of many women.

"Imagine me? Wearin' a dress?" Renji snorted. "I'm sure yer elders would have a heart attack."

☽ Yes, there's violence in this gaze. A love that is experienced violently, passionately. A love that devours and that makes you overcome anything.

Surprised by the fact Renji would bring up their last fun time, the lanky espada just tilts his head slightly to the side, his sole snaky eye still riveted to his soulmate.

Everything about the Praying Mantis, from his gaze, his traits, to the way he looks, screams violence. But those thin lips just deliver the sweetest words out of the blue :

"Lookin' at ya... just makes me feel happy."

Perhaps the most heartful, efficient, simplest way of saying "I love you". The kind of spontaneous confession you could only ever make to someone you feel absolutely safe with. And that's the case. Nnoitra might be paranoid and scared of the entire world to the point he'd murder it all, destroy it all, hoping to find some peace for a second, but he does feel safe and loved around Renji. Seeing him would elicit this sweet feeling of peace, something the Quinta had never known before. Finally being able to let down his guard around someone, to show up without having to put his armor on. ☾

He was taken aback by Nnoitra's response, not expecting him to be so blunt with his words. Not that the other usually skirted around the issue no - but ... he'd not been expecting such forthcoming behavior from the Quinta.

"Well, 'm not goin' nowhere, so ya can look to yer heart's content," Renji chuckles, half jokingly. That gaze that pierced through his soul, full of fire and grit. He still hadn't grown accustomed to it yet, a shiver running down his spine on those occasions that he did catch Nnoitra staring.

He sits down in front of his lover, tilting is head, just gazing at him, letting his eyes take in all of him before he smiles. "Then if I make ya happy, why ya gotta glower on yer face like that, hm?"

Rukia blinked, letting the words sink in while watching Renji roll his eyes back before bursting into laughter. She couldn't help herself, with the image of Renji trying to make out with Byakuya. Every time she tried to stop, the image resurfaced with renewed laughter, doubling over and clutching her sides. Eventually she was able to breathe again, her ribs aching and tears pricking her eyes.

"At least make sure I get an invite to that wedding." She almost fell into another laughing fit. "I'll see if Ichigo's free and he can be my date."
