Hey! I had a question! So I know one of the mods have played three houses, so in that same vein, do you guys think carmilla from fates is a yandere from corrin? It's only "romantic" if you play the male corrin , but it's still pretty romantic coded for the female corrin as well! What are your thoughts? :0?
Hey there anon, Kai here. I’m the one who played Three Houses. I also played Awakening, Birthright, Conquest, and Revelations. With my credentials on this topic out of the way, let me talk about Carmilla.
She is the obligatory siscon/brocon character for this rather… fanservice heavy game. Personally, I don’t really consider Carmilla as a yandere. The same goes for Thraja. These are two characters that are created to idealize the MC and slightly coded as the “yandere” character but the affections they hold aren’t really romantic. We know this based on their dialogues with other characters if you decided to pair Carmilla or Thraja with someone else. It only “becomes” romantic connotation one you decide to court these characters. And as we’ve been saying about alternative universes or multiple endings, all we ask is the “yandere” character to remain consistent. You can marry Carmilla and Thraja off to any guy, bro. It would have been fine if they’re an “MC-only” love interest… we know that the devs are more than capable of a function like that because there is actual MC only pairing all the games.
In Carmilla’s case specifically, she dotes on Corrin (male or female) because she legitimately loves them as a sibling. And since I mentioned Thraja: Thraja idealize Robin because, spoiler alert, she can sense Grima inside of them and Thraja is a dark mage that worships Grima.
