Doing some more Surface Bound Lore drops and such on a whim as I do. I held a poll in the Slugterra Wiki Discord server to decide which character to do for Surface Bound next; Shadow Clan won!
So here's the residents of the Shadow Woods at the edge of Darefield's town limit. They use bark, deer skulls and pelts to camouflage themselves. Their legs and faces resemble deer far more than their monkey-like Slugterrian cousins. During the day, they slumber in a cave that only shadows may creep through (or a small enough child/teen)
Many fear going into these woods due to the urban tale told among parents and children on the playground. "If you enter the woods during the dead of night when the moon is at its peak in the sky... the forest speaks. It calls. It sings. It lures you deeper and deeper, green and cyan eyes piercing through the darkness to watch your trembling steps. Soon you stumble upon an old cabin. There they take you away and eat you alive. Given to the head of the creatures, one that appears of human and shadow creature mix."
Nowadays, that cabin appears to be the headquarters for a group of Cryptid Researchers, having mistaken these creatures for other folklore legends.
