Brandon closed his eyes. Taking a breath through his nose as Cat stormed off. He honestly didn't even know what he'd said to piss her off. He'd told her what she'd been asking that until recently he wasn't allowed to. Which had only served in getting him yelled at.

"Cat. Come on. Wait a minute." She'd already stepped off the curb and begun crossing the street by the time he got outside. His tone went desperate, he could see the car as it ran the red but there was no way he could close the distance between them in time to pull her out of the way. "Cat!"

The driver didn't even stop. The scent of alcohol strong enough that he could smell it through the closed windows as it barreled on.

Brandon was wandering through the streets, literally in the street in a few of the less populated ones. Because why the hell not? It’s not like anyone could ACTUALLY stop him. Though he did tend to reign himself back when it came to most of humanity. That was until some drugged out idiot had tried to knife him for his wallet. 

It hadn’t ended well for the mugger.

Brandon had tucked himself into a back corner, wanting to either be left alone or for someone to fucking pull shit. There was no middle ground with his head right now. He was on his forth... No. Fifth Ninkasi and the night was still pretty young. Blue eyes still alert as he watched the crowd, though a little distant as he tried to ignore the thoughts circling around in his head.
