meet the family | sam & charlie
Charlie’s parents had been insisting that Sam come to dinner for the past three weeks. Ever since they’d learned about Kennedy’s soon to be husband, they wanted to meet the boy. Charlie had told them that he had met and befriended Sam, but he had barely stopped talking about Sam for the past month. His parents hadn’t been surprised to hear that he had begun to date Sam and Kennedy. They’d been extremely happy for him, after all, they both agreed that Charlie needed to have some ounce of happiness in his life. Not that Charlie had been unhappy, but being kicked out of school and without Kennedy around, his parents had worried about him. Luckily, it seemed that happiness was finally on Charlie’s side. He knew he could only keep his parents at bay for a few weeks before they would annoy him about it.
Somehow, Charlie reluctantly managed to get Sam to agree to dinner. He could tell his boyfriend was nervous about it, but he wasn’t sure how to help the situation either. Charlie knew that his parents were going to love Sam. How could they not? Besides Kennedy, Sam was the best thing that had happened to Charlie. It was a beautiful Friday, though he’d spent most of the day at home getting the house ready for Sam’s arrival. His mother had been cooking for a while. Both his parents had taken the day off to get ready. Even Kitty was there helping get ready. She had been helping Charlie clean and was now getting ready. He probably needed to get ready too. It wouldn’t take long, he had laid out his suit earlier. The doorbell rang.
“Shit! Sam’s here. Kitty can you get the door and entertain Sam while I get dressed? Please be nice.”
“Surrrre,” she replied, eyeing the door.
“Be nice,” Charlie said as he bolted off to get ready.
