For days, Esther had been waiting for the right opportunity to do this. The girl knew it wasn’t an option for her to do it while Isaac was around. Or Samuel, for that matter. If the two lines appeared on the stick, she was bound for another breakdown and it’d be difficult to keep it from either of them before she could do something about it. With only Austin in the house, though, things were less complicated. Austin she knew she could trust, so she waited for when her cousin took Isaac out to buy groceries since he was the one more likely to comply to shut herself in the bathroom. Esther couldn’t wait for any of the three tests to give their results before she was opening the door. “Austin!” She didn’t want to do this alone. “Austin, I need your help with something real quick!” She yelled outside, hoping the man would listen to her.
