Behind | Tobin + Delthea
starter for @thecluelessone
Of all ways Delthea could get hurt, it wasn’t by a Terror or an enemy Rigelian. It, of course, had to be from tripping over a little rock that she didn’t see. She slams against the dirt with a cry. A searing pain travels up from her ankle and she winces. Did she break it? Was it sprained?
Either way, she should probably get up first and worry about it later. She sits up, moving her ankle gently. No pain, it seems. She nods, using her arms to push herself up to stand. Her ankle wasn’t that badly injured, it must have been just a little cut or something-
She puts weight on it and lets out a loud “ow.” Nope, that’s pain for sure, and it was not just a little cut. The pain fades away, leaving behind nothing but some throbbing. Maybe she could attempt to take another step to catch up, or try and hop, but she would rather get the ankle fixed quickly by some cleric just in case.
Her brown eyes look up at the rest of the army, eager to escape the battlefield and already far ahead of her. It made sense, she knew, for them to leave. Terrors had previously infested this land, making it an awful idea to stay behind after dealing with a bout of them. At the same time, there’s a feeling of discomfort. She doesn’t want to be left alone here, where monsters could magically appear and attack, all because of a stupid pebble. Desperation builds up inside her. She needs to follow them, but how?
She finally spots someone that’s close enough to help her. Brown hair, archer... what was his name again? She had never really spoken to him, but there’s a vague memory of it somewhere in her mind. Michael? Robin? Ah, no, but it was close to Robin...
“Tobin!” she calls, hopping as she waves. “Some help would be nice here!”
