it had been a couple weeks since dash had reached out to a certain kate bishop - a decision made so as not to seem too eager, honestly. he hadn't asked her if she was coming to this thing because he assumed anyone with a brain would show up, anyway. he didn't need to ask her to go with him because, if luck was on his side, he'd run into her anyway. not that he was thinking that far ahead - he was just here for the free food.
glass of champagne in hand (he could have two) as dash scanned the ballroom, his eyes zeroed in on waves of chestnut hair and dark purple fabric on the other side of the room like prey. he tipped his glass back and finished the golden liquid inside, his feet pushing him forward before he realized he had been looking for her. handing the glass off to one of many circling staffers, he stepped up behind kate and dipped his head down to speak where only she could hear, hand finding the side of her waist with a certainty that matched his words. "let me know when you want a ride home."

A-Xiang turned to see the woman, whip in hand, ready to fight if needed. She was on high alert. She hadn't found Chengling, and she was panicking. She'd lost her phone fighting someone, so now she was just hoping he was at home. But this woman was in the way. "Are you looking for a fight, because I have no problem giving you one. I have someone important to find."

Esme thought she’d recognized the woman after walking around for a while. She goes up to her and beams. “Hello there. Are you Kate Denali? If not, you look a bit like her.” She realizes with her mask she also may not be recognizable. “I’m Esme Cullen!”
