"You'd think I was used to nights on my own seeing as we've always co-parented but it's almost getting harder the older Ray gets, you know? I think I used to enjoy the break and getting some sleep but now I just miss her like a sad sack." Filling up both of their wine glasses, Maya left the bottle on the coffee table before taking her place back on the couch. It had been a no brainer to invite Nadia over for a girls/mothers in arms night when she learnt they'd both be childless for the evening and honestly, she had needed it for longer than she'd care to admit.
After her emotional blow out with Andre outside Open Range, Maya's brain hadn't settled and a night on her own just wasn't something she was comfortable with at that point.
