The plan was simple. That’s what all the books and movies and TV shows said about these things, usually right before everything went to shit. In reality, the plan is not simple. The plan is so complicated that it has taken over a week to hammer out and relies on the cooperation of too many people to expect it to go perfectly smooth. From convincing Jacqui to stay quiet and hoping she keeps her promise to calling in favors from Cassie and hoping she brings the right model, the plan is realistically a mess.
Jin remains optimistic, however. He has to. He refuses to give Takeda the satisfaction of winning their stupid bet. With Erron on his side, though, the optimism comes rather easily. The whole plan hinges on the sharpshooter’s skills and his willingness to go along with Jin’s special brand of crazy.
“I don’t think it’ll work. With you, I know it’ll work.” Slinging an arm over Erron’s shoulders, Jin jabs a finger at the center of the man’s chest. “But please, please make sure you use the Nerf gun Cassie brings and not your revolvers. We’re just trying to knock Raiden’s hat off, not put a hole in it.”
