Planning out appointments so that Emirhan could participate in as much of the wedding planning as possible was tricky. Luckily, the shops were flexible when he told them his story. His trip stateside with just a twenty-four hour window between flights was filled with a tux fitting, a visit to the venue that Ramona had said she liked, and to the florist. He wanted her dream to come true, not having much to add but happy to see everything coming to life. What he hadn’t told her, was that as their feet were sore from walking and the shops were closing, he’d scheduled a rooftop cake tasting at her favorite bakery. His sister had sweetly set up the date and Emir was excited to make the most of the last moments before the last deployment before his leave for their wedding.
He stopped outside the door, “Hmm, they’re closing soon, but let’s slip in anyways. I know how much you love this place.” Emir smiled, tugging on Ramona’s small hand. “I think we both always have space for sweets in our tummies, don’t we? Shall we?”
