She found someone giving her just a little too much attention, and hooked her arm with hers. “You look perfectly gorgeous! Come join me!”

Breaking Down || Sydney & Judith

“Uh, J?” Sydney called out, making her way into the living room of her girlfriend’s apartment, eyes trained on the ground. “Can you come in here?” Her voice was shaking slightly and her eyes were a bit puffy. She’d been crying in the bathroom and while she’d managed to keep quiet, Sydney knew she couldn’t stay in the bathroom much longer without Judith growing suspicious. “I think there’s something I need to tell you.” She spoke in a voice so low she wasn’t sure Judith would even hear her, but she didn’t trust herself to speak any louder. While Sydney had been pretty sure she was pregnant for weeks she hadn’t taken a test until now and the confirmation made it so much more real, so much more terrifying.

“you think you’re falling in love with me?” sydney asks, smile on her lips as her fingers snake through lucinda’s hair and she pulls her in close. “i’m gonna need you to be a little more confident because, baby, i know i’m falling in love with you.” without giving lucinda time to respond, she kisses her, pressing herself against her.

Sydney eyes Lucinda, an expression torn between frustration and sadness on her face. This whole situation is exhausting. It’s almost like she’s being punished for following her dreams, which is pissing her off more than anything. It isn’t fair that she has to chose. “Luc, you’re acting like you hate me. You don’t trust me, is that? You don’t trust that things will be okay if I’m there and you’re here?”

sydney wraps her arms around lucinda’s waist the second she’s in her lap, almost as eager to hold her there as she is to kiss her. but is there anything with lucinda she’s not eager about? she hasn’t found it yet. “missed me that much, huh?”

sydney eyes her appearance in the mirror, still torn between the black dress she has on and the red one laying on her bed. she’s about to pull the dress off to try the other on again when she hears the knock on her door. thank god she’d done her hair and make up before getting dressed. she slips on her heels and hurries to the door, not wanting to keep lucinda waiting. a grin takes over her whole face at the sight of her and she leans against the door. it’s like lucinda gets even more gorgeous every time she sees her. “sorry, didn’t mean to keep you waiting. i was just finishing getting dressed.”
