@thosebrightcitylights a little drabble to set up some of the stuff we’ve talked about and to help me get to know bambi and enzo!
enzo walks into the kitchen and without so much as a hello asks, “you don’t have plans friday night, do you? if you do you’re gonna have to cancel them. i set you up with my coworker and i kinda already told him you agreed.”
bambi drops the cookie in her hand onto the counter with a thud, crumbs breaking off and scattering all over the surface. “you’re fucking joking, right?”
“bam bam, would i joke about something like this?”
“enzo, why the hell would i agree to this? why would i give up a friday night for a random guy that you’re the only one i know vouching for him?”
“because he’s a good guy and he’s single. and you’re single and crying about it all the time, but doing nothing about it. i’m helping. i’m being a good brother.”
“you’re being a pain in the ass.”
“sometimes they’re the same thing. you need a little push. i’m giving you a little push. it’s more than you’ve done for your own love life in years.”
she rolls her eyes so hard it should be put in a museum somewhere for perfect form. “still not hearing a reason to go.”
“come on, bambi, i already told him you’d go. and dude’s, like, human sunshine, okay? he’s so nice. you’re gonna have fun, i promise. and if you don’t, i don’t know, i’ll give you a hundred bucks or something.”
“that’s prostitution. you’re turning your little sister into a hooker, lorenzo.”
“okay, fine, no money. jesus christ, will you please just go?”
“only because you already told him i would, which, for the record, i’m not happy about. and i’m not letting it go and i will give you shit about it forever.”
“oh, please, you’re gonna be thanking me after this date.”
“in your fucking dreams. and by the way, clean up the mess you made me make,” bambi tells him, pointing at the counter before heading out of the kitchen.
