OPEN TO: m 30+ PLOT: lottie and your muse have been having a little bit of a flirtationship (could be another teacher or a parent of a child) and she wouldn't let it go any further while school was in session. now it's summer and your muse is ready to make plans for real.

a smile appeared on her face as the other approached and she could feel the familiar butterflies make their way into her stomach just with their presence. "hi," she grinned, looking up at the taller man as she clasped her hands in front of her. she always tried to be professional but there was something about him that threw her off a little bit, in the best way of course. "have any plans this summer?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.

a gasp escaped lottie’s lips as she felt the baby kick. of course it wasn’t the first time she felt magnolia kicking but the closer they got to the due date, the more active the baby was and it almost felt like she was about to kick a hole in her stomach. she grabbed cash’s hand, sitting up a little and leaning against the head board. she placed his hand on top of her pregnant belly and looked over at her, “jesus, do you feel that?” she asked, her hand resting on top of his. things had been going pretty well since the man had moved here and she couldn’t be happier about that. “magnolia’s ready to get out of there, ya think?” she asked, her thumb rubbing over his skin. it’d been getting harder and harder for her to sleep at night and she knew it had to be bothering him too. she tossed and turned most nights just trying to get comfortable and here she was keeping him up to talk about their baby again. he never seemed bothered by it though and she found that to be sweet. she reached her hand up and pushed some of his hair back, “i’m ready for her to be here too. maybe then i can get a little more sleep than i am now...”

if someone would have told her that she would have been moving back in with her ex a year ago, she would have told them that they were insane. not because she didn't love him but because the two had a conversation about how being separated would be the best for the children due to his lifestyle. except, that wasn't true. they still managed to become a target and well, if she were honest, she was miserable without the man with her. she was miserable without all of them being a family. she'd just put the kids to bed when she made her way into their shared bedroom and began working on one of the boxes of her things. "i can't believe we're doing this," she started and glanced over at him with a smile, "but i'm glad we are. you know that, right?"

lottie knew that it was about time that she moved on from her ex. everyone in her life knew it and even encouraged her to put herself out there more. in fact, one of her friends even went as far as to set her up on a blind date. this wasn't typically her thing but she hated telling her friend no and so, she agreed to go. smoothing her hands over her black dress, she clasped her hands in front of her as she waited for her blind date to meet her in front of their chosen restaurant. as a man approached her, she smiled. "you wouldn't happen to be looking for your blind date, would you?"

the more time that lottie spent with peter, the more she never wanted him to leave. not only was he helping distract from how much she missed her kids, he was helping her put her house together. (which, he definitely didn't have to do). she stood back, eyes on the shelf he was putting up. he had seemed to center it perfectly and she didn't mind being his second pair of eyes. on top of that, she didn't mind watching him work either. "it's perfect." she announced, a smile taking over her face as she moved closer to him and rubbed her hands over his shoulders from behind. "are you up for helping me finish painting my bedroom? i know painting is like completely lame but i'd say you have some pretty decent company." she teased, arms dropping down to wrap around his waist and her cheek resting against his back.

lottie’s smile took over her face as she watched forest tear open present after present. he didn’t get as many as he normally got, mostly because the getaway they were planning was part of his present since he had, afterall, chose disney world. she wasn’t surprised that he did either. she figured the they’d let forest open his presents first and then they’d exchange their own. she had cash’s present tucked beside her on the couch, perfectly wrapped with a bow placed on top of it. she was tucked into her partner’s side, a smile on her face. she was perfectly content in this moment. she looked up at him, “you ready for your gift?” she asked and before he could answer, she pushed it toward him and into his lap. “i hope you like it.” although, she knew cash well enough to know what he liked or at least, she should by now. especially since the two of them had known each other for as long as they had and had a family together. “open it.” she encouraged.

she was completely devastated the moment the other was thrown into prison. lottie had just told him that she was pregnant and before the two of them could decide what to do or before he could join her for an ultra sound, he was gone and she was forced into facing motherhood all on her own. it was hard at first, especially considering none of her family was here to help her but she eventually got the hang of things. she was gathering up her things for the day to pick her daughter up from daycare when her receptionist phoned her and let her know a parent was here to see her. she sighed and sat back down but the last thing she expected was for it to be the parent, father, to her daughter. she glared, “what are you doing here?”

the connection was still there and that was something lottie was very much aware of but she didn’t know what to do about it. was there really anything she could do about it anyways? would she leave him for her? she laid in bed next to the woman, the sheets tucked underneath her arms as she stared up at the ceiling and tried to think things through, at least until the other began to shift. that’s when he head turned toward her best friend. “we...need to talk.” of course she didn’t mean to hit her with something so heavy as soon as she woke up but she wasn’t sure she could let the other marry her groom until she fully laid her feelings out on the table. the least she could do was be honest, right?
