“I was thinking--”
There was a nervous tenor in her voice that was unusual for her. Jihiko liked people, but rarely spent that much time with anyone outside of work and did so precisely because she liked people; at the back of her mind, there was always the chance she could hurt someone or they could hurt her. She knew which one she felt was worse. But she gave Lewis a smile.
“Since it’s Halloween, we should have a movie marathon.”

It was warm and wet and delicious and Jihiko thought she was going to be sick as she choked down the meat as quickly as she could. Two thoughts warred in her head. Eat, more and more and more, until the bones were clean. Run, now, before anyone can see what a disgusting thing she was. Her hands were shaking.
Why couldn’t she stop? Had she been that hungry?
Light steps, the sound of someone breathing made her stop, choking in her panic.
“This isn’t what it looks like.”
