Avery hadn’t bothered to look at the clock when he finally left, he just knew it was late. Opening up the door to his apartment, he quietly slipped inside, closing the door and locking it behind him. Slipping out of his shoes, he hung up his jacket and placed his keys in the bowl on the table. Hearing no sounds coming from within, he tiptoed to the bedroom he had set up for Chloe, opened up the door and checked on her. The toddler was sleeping soundly, clutching her blanket close. He stood there for a long moment before finally turning to leave, closing the door only partly, enough to leave a sliver of light. Next, he went in search of Ellie, finding her in his own bedroom. Grinning a bit, he tugged his shirt off and tossed it aside, pants soon following. He crawled on to the bed, leaning over to brush his lips over her cheek.
