Kasim had decided a long time ago to throw his station as war general to the wind, and he had not regretted it since. But in moments such as these, with a dead king and panicked masses, it was impossible to stop the old instincts from kicking in. He felt the need to help, to keep himself busy in a poor attempt to stop his thoughts from circling around a particular woman who seemed incredibly unphased by everything that was going on. He spotted Bia, and was quick to reach their side. “Do you need help with anything?” His voice was low but stern, an echo of what it had once been like when he’d directed a whole army. “I’m happy to do anything you need me to do.”
