Walking them over he adjusted his grip so she could look better, "Hey there, you wouldn't happen to have anything that won't end up as a choking hazard?"

That wasn’t what Pippa had been expecting to hear and she froze for a moment before sitting down next to him. “Well that’s to be expected is it not? You’ve certainly got a lot on your plate. I’m here to help you know.”

“I heard that congratulations are in order?” Pippa had done her best to wait to see Lachlan rather than walk into his office first thing that morning like she’d wanted to. It was still somewhat early but at least he wasn’t in a meeting by the time she walked in.

“I’ve fucked up.” After the crash Lachlan had quickly been upgraded to the kind of friendship where Cat felt comfortable enough to just walk into his office (after quickly checking no one else was there) and sit down in the chair in front of him.

“I come with a peace offering. I mean no harm,” Surprising her ex (or current?) son-in-law in his office was probably a strange move but she held a coffee out to him with a small smile. Pippa had very mixed feelings about what had happened between Lachlan and Andrea but she wasn’t about to go into a new job without talking to him first.

I have a whole bunch of paperwork and the majority of it is filled out but dear Brigid are you serious that all this is needed?” Lilith was holding the sheets and sheets of paper which were, as promised, filled out. Really it was her own fault that she had so much to fill out; starting nearly a week early wasn’t advisable. “Are you Ms James-King?”

Logically she knew she needed to stay in the hospital, she hadn’t been surprised to hear her arm was infected. The heat and the pain had been enough of a warning. “You look exhausted.”
