"Miss Luthor.” Clark nodded, a smile small on his face. “Fancy seeing you here, at an auction of all places,” there was a hint of teasing in his voice as he spoke, despite his tone being dry. The last several weeks were hard, but he was trying to get back on his feet. “Enjoying your time?”

As the line wound around the coffeeshop, Tommy watched as people grew impatient. He was next in line, so he did what he rarely saw his father do. “I’ll have a double shot espresso and I’ll cover everyone’s order. Put it on this.” He handed over his credit card, knowing that he was financially secure enough to do so. Behind him, he heard a scoff from a woman’s voice. “Can I help you?”

“When my assistant told me a representative from L-Corp was waiting in my office, I certainly wasn’t expecting the CEO.” Bruce greeted as he entered his office, business smile that could charm any boardroom sliding into place. “Miss Luthor, this is a pleasant surprise.”

“What brings you to Gotham? Here to scope out the competition?” His banter was friendly but also curious.

While Bruce pretended to be far less hands on within his company, he was still very much aware of what went on. As far as he knew Wayne Enterprises had no joint projects with it’s rival LexCorp. But perhaps with the companies rebranding after Lena took over would bring about more than just a name change.

“If you’re here to talk tech, I’m afraid I can’t be of much help. I generally leave that to Lucius.”

“You and me both,” Tommy commented, setting a coffee before the woman. “Do you have friends to celebrate with?” He settled in to the chair across from her, sipping from his own cup before holding it between both hands. “I’ll be spending the holidays either at home or working, we’ll see if any local hospitals need relief. I’m more than happy to host something if you need some company over the holidays, Lena.”
