Forks was a lot different than New Orleans. It constantly rained in the small town and everyone looked at her weirdly due to her accent at times would slip out. She could not help it that she had a southern accent. Her brothers were born in Texas while she was born in Louisiana. Their parents however were both from Forks -- a place the Miller siblings soon learned to call home. They’ve taken up residence on the outskirts of the gloomy town towards the woods. Their Uncle was the only resident there until Marcella and her two brothers moved in with them. Despite the major change since the loss of their father; one thing remained the same and that was her camera and the desire to photograph all the nature around her.
Due to Marcella’s hobby it didn’t take long for the friends she made at school tell her about some of the sights. Hearing of it all Marcella decided one of the first places she’d love to photograph was La Push Beach -- a Quileute Reservation to be exact. Serena Black, a Quileute herself offered up her assistance in showing Marcella around on that Saturday afternoon. Unknown to the photographer at the time it was all a set up done by the Quileute. Arriving to the spot they were going to meet up, Marcella had gotten out of her little Volkswagen and took in the beauty of the beach. For some reason this beach was more breath taking than ones she knew back in Louisiana. Draping the collar her camera hung by around her neck Marcella began her walk across the beach as she awaited for Serena to show up. Maybe about twenty or so minutes later Marcella received a text from the Quileute who told her she had family errands to take care of and felt horrible, but told the aspiring photographer to go on if she’d like too. “Might as well since I’m here.” the photographer muttered to herself.
It didn’t take long for Marcella to get lost into the beauty of the area and the countless photos she had already taken. Some of them contained surfers that were out taming the waves, the seagulls in the sky, and even an elderly couple who were taking a stroll down the beach with their toes squishing the sand between them. Zooming in Marcella took a few shots of the waves before looking around through the lens. Something though caught her eye when she looked down the beach and zoomed in even more. A blush came to her cheeks at remembering the guy from the bonfire she was invited too a few nights ago. This time he was shirtless unlike the other night. Biting her bottom lip Marcella snap a photo of him and as if on que the guy noticed her. With her eyes going wide and quickly tearing the camera away from her face Marcella tried her best to act natural as if she didn’t just take a photo of him.
“Hi.” Marcella gave him a smile when he reached to her. Be cool Marcy, she thought. “Um, what are you doing here?” She questioned and automatically felt like an idiot. He should be the one asking her that since it is his reservation and Marcy is just visiting. “Sorry -- I shouldn’t be asking that since I’m the visitor.”
