Fried Green Tomatoes has been a story that has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I used to be obsessed over the movie and would play it all the time. I read the book for the first time at 14 and at the time I couldn't understand the feelings I had towards Ruth. I told myself I really liked Mary Louise Parker's acting. Now, I know better and realized it was a crush on both the character and actress.
Fast forward to today. I still love the story and auditioned for & got the role of Ruth in our community theater's production of Fried Green Tomatoes a few weeks ago! I decided this was a safe place to document these next few weeks until the curtain opens...and to fangirl when need be. ;)
This evening we are going through Act 1. Final rehearsal using the script. The actress who plays Idgie won't be able to make it which makes my scenes a bit awkward being in the scene alone and a random person is reading her lines. We are adding in props which will help the story come to life. I'm ready for the baseball bat ;)
