Since the party Nova had been on edge. Gossip girl was back. Elliott was back. She and Gabriel were over. Done, that was it - there was no going back. She'd seen Daisy for the first time in what felt like ages and it brought up all kinds of emotions that she was unprepared for. Needless to say, there was a lot going on. She was so glad that her best friend was back. She and Colette came from two very different worlds but they just clicked. She felt like they just balanced each other out. Yes, they had their fair share of fights and disagreements but at the end of the day, that was her girl - one hundred grand.

With a box of fresh macaroons in hand, Nova stepped into the elevator, tapped her key against the sensor, and hit the button for the penthouse floor. As soon as the doors rolled open, Nova smiled brightly. "Guess who!" she called out as she walked in, moving right for the kitchen. Setting the box on the counter, she moved for the cabinet and pulled out a kettle. "I'm so glad you're back!"

Nova stood towards the back, her eyes scanning the room slowly. She was a fish out of water here - she knew it and everyone else too. What was she doing here? Why did she actually come? Was it because deep down, she actually wanted to fit in. It was human nature. An innate thing - the need to belong. Sighing deeply, Nova gathered herself before she made her way deeper into the mass of people. She scooted and wiggled her way through the dense crowd, accidentally bumping into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she apologized.

It had been an interesting few weeks since the Kiss on the Lips party and the return of gossip girl. That night it seems like everything changed and the world has been in a spiral since. Lucky for her, Colette had returned shortly after and she had her to lean on because otherwise she'd surely go crazy. With all the Brie and Gabriel drama. Seeing Daisy again for the first time in years. The return of Elliott, who she still hasn't seen since the party. Finding out Nalin and the demon spawn Kami were dating. It was all so, so much and she was in the middle of every single thing as she had connections to each somebody in an odd pairing or situation.

That's why she found herself here today, Central Park. While for some it could be a brutally scary place, for her it was almost like a solace. A place for her to just come and think and clear her mind. Plus, this was often where she and Elliott would meet up for their late night talks before he left.

The sun was high in the sky, giving a gentle warmth to shake off some of that winter breeze as she knelt down in the grass, kissing her lips at the dog as she snapped pictures of it. She was a golden beauty in all her flaxen haired glory. She saw Riley and just had to ask the owner if she could snap a few pictures and lucky for her Riley was ready and willing. "Oh that's so good," she chuckled as the dog stood up and held out a paw to her with a bright smile.

Nova had known he was back for some time now - not because he'd reached out to her or anything, no definitely not that - she knew because she'd heard the rumblings. Manhattan was a big place but in the world that they lived in news traveled like lightning. She'd been aware of the exact day he'd touched back down in New York - almost to the hour. And she'd waited. Waited for him to call her, text her, send up a smoke signal. Something, anything. But it never came. Then word hit. Brie Barlow was dating none other than Gabriel Miller. The shock that rumbled through her body when she'd found out was almost enough to shatter her.

That couldn't be right. There was no way Brie and Gabe were dating. That didn't even make sense. But the moment she refreshed her feed on Instagram the proof was there - the two of them hugged up and in love. She was disgusted. Not only had he broken up with her and left without much of a goodbye but he returned and avoided her like the plague, only to then be dating Brie. Nova was pissed. They'd done the dance many times, break up to make up. It was their thing. Everyone knew it. But they always got back together. Always. Until this time. This time he'd turned to Brie - the Queen of their circles. And still, she couldn't even wrap her head around how it happened. Yes, Vienna and Brie were friends and Vienna was Gabriel's sister. But from what she knew Brie wasn't a fan of Gabe. Then all of a sudden they were the new it couple. It didn't make any sense. So, when they eventually broke up, Nova couldn't even say she was shocked.

That being said, she hadn't seen Gabriel in person since he left on tour until now and of all places it was at Brie's party. Just her luck. But since he'd been avoiding her, this felt like the only time she'd be able to confront him, so she did. Finishing off her drink, she'd made her way through the crowd until she was standing before him, staring him down with daggers. "Can we talk?"
