duri was rather excited, considering it felt like it had been a while since him and maverick were actually able to go on a date. most of the time, dates happened at home because that’s where things could be private. however, on this particular day, when they weren’t practicing for an upcoming tour, they were able to have a date out and about together. luckily, they found a field right outside of seoul, where no one would be in a secluded area of the field - no one would be able to see them or even detect them. so, duri had been excited. sure, he wasn’t really excited to be in a car, but that was a given - though, it was always a bit better, considering the fact that kai was the one that was driving. not to mention, duri felt a bit better because kangaroo was situated on his lap - he probably knew. 

once they had gotten there, the dogs were taken out of the car, still on the leashes, as he didn’t want to let them off the leashes just yet. he picks up the rather large picnic basket, a happy giggle leaving his lips. “do you have the blanket?” he asked kai. it was an oversized blanket that duri had brought specifically for outdoor use. it was nice and plush, but managed to stay cool in the warm sun. “are you ready to make our walk?” he asked, giggling happy once again. it wasn’t going to be that far, but it was going to be really nice for the privacy.

dinner had long been done and cleaned up now. night had fallen on a cold, autumn night, a long time ago. they had been in their usual spot when they were both busy with a schedule or having to do something. it was that incredibly comfortable couch that they had gotten for the house, that almost felt like a bed, and was perfectly plush - but, was very aesthetically beautiful in a way. nonetheless, they were curled up on the couch, all the animals situated around them as one of duri and kai’s favorite movies played on the television. however, duri’s mind was very much occupied with something else. he looked upon maverick, before he spoke, “we should write a song together and present it to bc entertainment to use as a duet for us,” he said, giggling softly. 

he leans forward, grabbing the notebook and pen. he opens up to the page that he started. “i only have something small written down here,” he said, before he’s gently passing it over to maverick. “i got sudden inspiration now, but it’s something i want to do with you,” he said, with a soft giggle. “though, it is a little weird because i think it’s going into the lane of a breakup ballad... but, at least bc entertainment wouldn’t know anything?” he said, giggling once more. “but, i only have, ‘only you, only you. i only loved you, my everything. but, i hurt you. i’m sorry, i’m sorry.’ i don’t think that would be the start of the song, it definitely has to be switched around somewhere.” he says. “what do you think? will you do it with me?”

    to be quite frank, there was always one whole, huge con to these trips and events. a lot of the time, duri didn’t get to room or be in the same place as kai. for a while, it always seemed to make him worry a bit, just because kai wouldn’t be by his side at night for the duration that they were there. he had already gotten use to them being next to him in bed, and he felt a lot safer. but, on trips and events like this, that was completely lost on him, to say the least. he really wished there was a way to sneak the other into villa b, but thus, he could only bring him to hang out, rather than to stay the night. which had seemingly been a big bummer for duri and he already looked forward to getting back home. not to mention, he really misses finn, kangaroo, angel, moose, peanut butter, and tteokbokki. luckily, his cousin, mari, was staying at the house, and sending pictures of ahri and nori with the animals to a group chat with herself, duri, and kai. there was at least that to hold him over. 

duri had skipped out completely on the pool party. parties have never been his thing and he always felt really awkward about it, especially having to constantly decline alcohol that was offered to him - only to get weird looks from others about it. he just wasn’t a drinker in the slightest, was that so bad? nonetheless, duri was really happy that kai decided to skip out on the party as well and come over to his villa. it was a nice evening, a bit on the cooler side, or as cool as it could get. the sun just starting to set, and the two of them were on one of the lounge chairs, just cuddling up, considering they were alone. “ah, i really miss you at night,” he says quietly, a giggle leaving his lips. “why did they have to put us in separate villas?”

         he was giggling softly as he’s sat upon the floor. “tteokbokki!” he calls out to an orange kitten. they had added a new addition to the animals that lingered their family, simply because they couldn’t not add the kitten that they saved to their family. duri and kai would probably chill out for a long while when it came to animals, as there was now six running around the home. but, they were able to easily care for the six animals between themselves, as well as duri’s family, that it was more than okay. plus, they have way more than enough income to cover everything, so everything was a-okay. he always was very much a dog kind of person, but he was very excited about the cat. 

“ah, baby! i think tteokbokki is wondering what you’re doing!” he said, giggling softly. moose was off to the right of duri, eyes watching the orange kitten, and his tail going. finn and peanut butter seemed to be no where in sight, with roo making his way over to see his newest sibling once more. “are finn and peanut butter doing okay?” he asked, looking upon the other.

     whenever it was a video shoot, you could always except it to start early, and that was the case for today. he had been to the salon to get his hair done and his makeup. an artist would tag along with duri, as well as his manager to where the video shoot was, just so she’d be able to touch up any makeup or hairstyles of himself and the dancers. he had downed a lot of coffee, something that he couldn’t help, when he barely slept the night before, and the video shoot for candy had began early with a stop at the salon, before heading to where he had to go. but, it was okay, it would be okay. he was full of energy, something that was usual for him, and probably because of the amount of caffeine that was coursing through him. 

he had gone through a few shoots of scenes for the candy music video already, before they asked him to take a break. he had gotten water, taken a sip, and made his way to where his waiting room was. he opened up the door, walked in, and just as he walking past something, he noticed who was there, and a giggle left his lips. “kai!” he said, before throwing himself onto him to give him a big hug. since they were at the shoot, they had to keep it lowkey, just so they wouldn’t be caught.

        free-time without any cameras following them around seemed like a dream time currently, and it was a time that duri had to take opportunity. so, of course, he had to take kai on a date whilst they were abroad the ship - how couldn’t he take the chance, right? it seemed like a perfect time for a date, especially when filming wasn’t occurring, and it was easy to sneak with his boyfriend (not like he wasn’t already doing that with the two being roommates and all.) but, they were sneaking around outside of a closed door, so there was that. but, he was excited for their date, considering he had planned it - no one else would know it was a date beside for the two, but that didn’t matter, now did it?

“how’s going to the italian restaurant?” duri asked as they made their way out of their shared suite. “it’s outside and we get a nice view of the water!” he said with a soft smile. “i thought about the french restaurant... but i’m not entirely sure what french food is? besides for escargot...”

       there’s a big giggle that seemingly leaves duri’s lips, as he grab kai’s hand and takes him towards the back of the ballroom, to go into the back garden. they didn’t get to have much alone time recently because of both of their schedules and most of the time, they were just eating dinner, and cuddling at home to go to sleep. but, they had some time now and a hedge maze, so what better time to get some kisses, right? “let’s go to the hedge maze!” he says, giggling a bit more before he leads kai into the hedge maze. he seemingly gets them a bit far, and takes them to one of the wrong turns for extra privacy. no one would probably find the two there, so it was perfect to spend some time together. duri spun him around, wrapping his arms around his waist, and pulling him close. “hi.”

      duri was always excited whenever he got to do this; have a sleepover with ahri and nori. there was time in his schedule finally and he knew that it was good to get them off mari and her husband’s hands, just so they can have some time together. but, nonetheless, it was always a really good time and he knew it was going to be even more fun with kai there, they were excited to know that he was here, as well as the dogs. he came walking into the house with the two, helping them to remove their shoes as he undid his own. the two went running in, “uncle kai!” the pair yelled out, which had caused a giggle to escape duri’s lips.
