the party that hana and charlie had entered hand in hand was in full swing now. people trying to grasp on some college-day nostalgia before the weekend was over. when hana had been invited to this party by an old friend she had agreed right away. she hadn't been to a party like this in forever and she knew that as long as she had charlie by her side, she would be more than fine. she got herself all dressed up and the moment they had entered the large home she had been greeted with shots that she downed eagerly. hana didn't drink too often because she tended to get a little sloppy, but it was a party! she loved a good party.

it felt like the shots were just being given to her. she drank them all without complaint and once the alcohol started kicking in, it was all over. one second she was by charlie, the next she was dancing on a table with her girls, smiling and ignoring the fact that her top kept trying to expose her in front of everyone. then she was playing beer pong but got confused and took a cup and walked off. then she had found charlie again, at least she thinks she did? he looked like charlie, he didn't smell like charlie, but it was a party and he always kept close so she was sure it was him. she took the guy's hand without question and it didn't take long before she found somewhere private for them to make out in.

her brain didn't even register that this guy was a lot more handsy than charlie was, that their kisses didn't spark like they normally did. she was so drunk she even looked past the fact that this guy was an awful kisser. who knows how far she would have gotten if the door to the closet they were in hadn't opened. hana pulled away from who she thought was charlie and blinked up at...charlie? she looked to the guy who was holding her possessively and then the boy who was giving her a very complicated expression. "oh my gosh....there's two charlie's!" she didn't even know charlie had a clone. or a twin. "this is like....a total head trip."

Asha sat on the stool in the hole-in-the-wall bar nursing her third glass of whiskey and coke. She'd lost track of how long she'd been there a while ago. And while, she wasn't exactly drunk yet, she was getting there. The last few weeks were finally catching up with her and she needed a breather. She hadn't even realized it but she had been running a marathon. It was one thing after another. Now, she was on her water break - exhausted. Gulping down the last of the brown liquor, Asha flagged down the waiter for another.

Their wedding was still seared into her memory even though it was now days ago. How she had convinced herself that she wasn’t terrified and was certain that she’d convinced everyone else of that too. But all that anxiousness had somehow vanished the moment that they’d locked eyes and she could still vividly remember that moment of calm. Secure and comforting. Their vows had been a blur and she was only vaguely aware of the intensity of the words she’d given, her determination and resolve shining through in them. And then had come the happiness of the feast afterwards. The sweet satisfaction she’d felt when he had joined her in a dance, her stubbornness paying off once more. It had all felt so promising in that light but with each day that passed she wondered if she had made the right choice. Not just for herself but for her people.  Perhaps she had just been so relieved that he wasn’t simply the mindless brute that wildlings had been made out to be that she’d fooled herself into believing that she hadn’t chosen wrongly. 

At times it felt like something of a miracle that her impulse decision had worked out far better than she could have even hoped. There was a bond between them, of that much she was certain, even if it did seem to lie more in the realm of physicality. Still, she was grateful for it when language had formed a temporary barrier between them and that nameless tie she felt to him kept her feeling tethered and not as lost as she could have been. But words would have to come eventually and she was determined that they would not simply be strangers who shared the same bed. It seemed simple enough to rectify, nothing that some time together couldn’t fix and so she’d set off with confidence in her steps, ignoring the hesitancy that threatened to slip into her gait as she approached her husband. “I thought that we could go for a ride.” There’s no real question in her tone, despite its softness, when she wasn’t prepared to take no for an answer. “There’s some places I want to show you.”

hana has done it again. there was a reason she didn't live alone, even more so was living with her best friend; she was a little hopeless. she had to remind herself how to breathe on most days and when she wasn't focusing on something trivial like that, she was normally getting herself into situations that were both abnormal and dangerous. she didn't know why that was the case; she welcomed each day as a golden one and always had a positive attitude. maybe it was because she was a bit too trusting. or it could be that she just tended to get a little carried away with things when she was excited. regardless, she'd lose her head off her shoulders if she didn't have charlie to keep her grounded.

so when she had accidentally locked herself out of their apartment (again) she had to call charlie from his job, which made her feel bad, but it was either do that or go for a walk in her very tiny pajamas. she didn't think the weather called for a stroll in an outfit like that today. when charlie arrived she skipped over to him, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug like he was her everything because, well, he was.

"i did it again," she said with a small pout, her bare feet stepping on his shoes as she clung to him. "i was taking out the trash and i forgot my key....it's a little cold today. sorry."

his show ended hours ago and nadia didn't go to it this time. they had fought before the show and she was still holding onto the rage that came with it. all she had suggested was she wear a special shirt she made for him, let her be his little model on stage with him, and not only did he shoot her down but reminded her she couldn't be his special anything. she had been on the road with this guy for what felt like forever at this point, knew him better than anyone else out there, and he still treated her like she was his mistress. she told him not to expect her back, that she was going to pack her bags and go, and that was that.

her bags were packed. she had been looking at tickets for her hometown that she was ready to buy with his credit card and yet she hadn't left the stupid hotel room. she was sitting on the bed, sulking, scrolling through her phone, and refusing to look up the concert and how it went. knowing his ass he did her idea with another girl. the entire thing just had her so mad that when he did eventually come back to the hotel she was still sitting there pissed. she didn't utter a word to him. just kept looking at her phone to keep herself from exploding.

anelise might be the worst person on the planet. not only did she freak out on damien in response to her own fuck-up, but she full on ghosted him for a few weeks before deciding she recovered from her procedure enough to hit him up again. she didn't explain a thing, she didn't say sorry, and she didn't show a hint of remorse even though she was actually feeling it for the first time. she honestly texted him and was assuming she'd be blocked, but he invited her over anyways and she just....didn't know what to make of that. she wasn't going to be a coward and not show up, but she wasn't going to be sober for it at all.

she stumbled her way to his apartment and knocked loudly. she had a million and one things running through her head but the moment he let her in she didn't hesitate in throwing herself at him. she was shameless and missed him and if he was going to scold her for being cruel at least she was drunk enough to handle it. "mmm. you smell good," she giggled, stumbling again. "i missed you....missed our fun..."

everything was too loud. the party she was chaperoning yet again at, her life, everything. she just wanted the world to stop for a minute. she would give anything....for life to pause for a minute. so she had started moving without thinking, making it up the stairs and pushing open the door to fresh air and a sky of stars. no one else was up there with her and for a few minutes....it was bliss. up here she wasn't hazel taylor, older sister to many and responsible for everyone. up there she was just hazel....a girl with too much on her plate that was reaching her limit.

she found herself a spot with a view and sat up there, staring at the sky. she didn't know when she started crying. she didn't know when someone joined her exactly. she just knew that right now it felt...amazing to just let it all out. to not worry about judgement or if everyone in her life secretly hated her. she was just....allowed to feel and exist and that was enough for now. wiping her eyes she turned to look at her audience. tripp. of course it was fucking tripp. "wassup?" she sniffled, trying to come off nonchalant. they weren't friends by any means...but they weren't enemies anymore either she guessed. "party dying?"
