When I play TTRPGs in person with friends. I roll the dice and say “math” and let my friends add things for me.

I haven’t retained much of the three years of French I took in school which makes it especially jarring when I answer someone in French or randomly dream in French.

I dye my hair blue and go by Bleu because of my grandmother. She had Alzheimer’s and couldn’t tell any of us apart. But once I dyed my hair blue she knew who I was and never mixed me up again. It makes me feel close to her.

I have two cats. They are the boss of me.

I also have a husband. The cats are also the boss of him.

I'm learning to speak read Chinese just because I want to know what those long haired boys in flowy robes are really saying while they're kissing each other.

I love these!

I hate Tom Cruise. So, so much. Like, I can't explain it, but I hate him. Seriously. But somehow, someway. I enjoy the new Top Gun: Maverick. I blame @princessmisery666

Clue is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I deal with anxiety, ADHD, depression, hypertension, and PMDD. These things are a pain in the ass but it's livable. I'm open about it so any time you wanna chat, do it!

1. I have never seen Monsters Inc. but I have seen Monsters University.

2. I had a lip ring in high school but took it out before college (art school) because I... didn’t want it influencing people’s first impression of me? Or something? I don’t know, hahaha.

3. I’m allergic to oysters. I wasn’t for a long time and they were one of my favorite foods. A few years ago, I went to the beach and did a bunch of oyster shooters. About 15 minutes away from home on our drive back from the beach, I started feeling really nauseous. Luckily, I made it home, but it was one of the worst nights of my life. It was so miserable. I avoided oysters for the next two years, but ended up at the beach again for my birthday. My sister convinced me that it was probably just “one bad oyster” and so I tentatively did ONE SINGLE oyster shot as a test. Then that was the worst night of my life. I’ll never touch another oyster again, haha.

1) A few years ago I spent six months teaching English in Xuzhou, China. While aspects of it were miserable at the time (lots of pollution, a distinct lack of cheese) it was a fantastic experience that pretty  much turned me off to the idea of classic sightseeing tourism. I got to live and work in an entirely different culture and experience things a lot more naturally, and there were so many places I got to see that were off the beaten path. Also the food was amazing.

2) The first videogames I remember owning were DK Virtual Reality Dinosaur Hunter and Castle Explorer, which I got in a twin-pack for Xmas one year (Castle Explorer also came with a cool paper model castle that I spent hours building). I spent ages playing them, and even to this day the intro theme tune is a very strong sense memory.

3) I never wrote in my school homework planner. Instead I filled it with doodles of horses and dragons, insisting to my teachers that I could remember the homework (which I mostly did), and to this day they’re the only thing I can draw without questioning every decision I’ve ever made.

So I was tagged by @benwaitingforsolo to do a Three Random Facts tagpostmemething, and decided to actually play along this time 😁✨

1.) I grew up in America but after college I moved to Japan to work, which is where I'm at now.

2.) I'm related on my mom's side to the guys who built the Titanic. After it sank they subtly changed the spelling of their last name to avoid getting shit on forever, and now people with that last name get together every two years in a giant national reunion for some reason 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

3.) I sometimes practice in kitchen witchery, which mostly just means I make cookies with Positive Intentions™ and bake bread with rosemary to feel protected, while scrambling around trying to figure out how to celebrate the Wheel of the Year sabbats because I usually forget what dates they're on 😂😅 I've never done spellwork, but I was teaching myself tarot for a while. I would love to have a deck of Star Wars tarot cards 👀

Three Facts

@angesaurus tagged me to list three facts about myself!  Thanks, friend!  

1. My only claim to fame is that I’m (distantly) related to Craig T. Nelson!  You know, Coach for those oldies like me, or that guy from Parenthood (which I still need to watch).  I’ve never met him but he would totally know who I am if I explain my relation.

2.  When at all possible I will always choose to use a plastic utensil instead of a metal one and I’ll downright refuse to use a metal spoon, straw or drink from a metal cup.  I can taste the metal and don’t enjoy how it tastes.  I had braces for seven years growing up and I’m convinced it made me more sensitive to the taste of metals.  

3.  I played soccer from the age of 5 to 18.  Not that that means I was any good, mind you.  It was always a house league but I did enjoy it greatly (as long as I didn’t have to run much, long-live fullback status) and developed a pretty awesome kick.
