day one - firsts.

art and i’s first date

art and i went to the tennis courts at stanford and he showed me how to hold the tennis racket, hand over hand. then we went out to a nice bistro that had really good sandwiches AND let us draw on the table.

the only problem was that i didn’t realize it was a date until way after! it was a perfect afternoon and art is an amazing coach.

patrick and i’s first date

another date that i didn’t realize was a date… whoops! we drove out to the city, downtown palo alto, while he was nearby for tour. he took me on a graffiti tour and we put our initials on a wall (don’t tell on us!)

city adventures are always more fun with somebody like patrick, who brings light and life to literally everything he does!

the first three body problem anniversary is coming up on may 30th!

i can’t believe it’s already been a year with these weird goobers and i can’t believe it’s only been a year with these weird goobers at the same time 

i decided that i wanted to do a ship week to celebrate the anniversary from the dates of may 24 - may 30.

day seven - anniversary.

it’s finally the first year anniversary of three body problem! we got together exactly one year ago, 12 days after i first watched ch.allengers. it was p much love at first sight 💕

for our first anniversary, we take a weekend trip to a coastal town a few hours away and rent a cabin overlooking the ocean. we spend two days having sleepy, lazy days, playing games, and cuddling. they’re the light and love of my life. every day i’m thankful to have them in my life as my number one source of joy and love.

day four - reverse au!

punk!patrick: the patrick who never found tennis but did find underground punk shows, skateboarding and crust pants. he can be found not getting a job and lighting art and fox’s cigarettes for them because princesses shouldn’t have to lift a finger.

britpop revival!art: the guy who listens to male manipulator music but doesn’t manipulate. he wears soft flannels that always smell like cigarette smoke and makes mixtapes for fox and patrick that always contain at least one too many songs by the smiths.

barbie!fox: elle woods meets jennifer check. baby pink, sparkly eyeshadow, hello kitty but not soft at the same time. she plays tennis (reverse au), but insists on having bedazzled rackets and pink skirts. she paints their nails for them and does a little extra cuticle care every time.

day three - domestic.

three body problem domesticity looks like:

patrick: love with patrick feels like giggling in bed at a sleepover with your best friend. he’s sleepy sunday mornings where the day drags into late afternoon naps. he takes care of everything—he’s the glue that holds everything together.

art: love with art feels like a warm hug when you need it the very most. he’s an evening siesta where you might as well go to bed but instead you’ll wake up at 8pm and art up all night. he keeps us cozy, comfortable and loved.

day six - chosen family.

our family is small for the time being, just the three of us, but it’s the family that we found along the way. our found family is what we have, and how beautiful is it to have three people who love and support each other through everything? we take care of each other, especially when we can’t take care of ourselves.

day five - hurt/comfort.

this song epitomizes the hurt/comfort dynamic between art and i. art is a difficult person to open up and it someone who has to make the choice to soften, to be gentle and warm because he’s so used to protecting himself. he’s gentle because he wants to be.

no words have summed up hurt/comfort between patrick and i better than “i love you, im sorry.” we love each other and we’re sorry our love languages clash sometimes. we love each other and we’re sorry not everyone was nice to the other.

day two - lucky charm.

this is what’s in our daily bags, including our lucky charms!

art carries a big, well maintained nike bag, full of basically anything he could ever need, except his gum, which he always forgets. he always keeps the latest gizmo tamagotchi in his bag—since it lives in his bag, he’s at gizmo 11 now—because it reminds him of his first night being patrick’s roommate. he keeps a universal bride of frankenstein button from me on his bag strap. he also keeps a fortune in his bag for luck.

patrick keeps the same ratty backpack he’s had since he was like 15. he could afford another one but he simply chooses not to get a new one. he always keeps gum (polar mint!) in his bag for art to keep him from biting his nails. he also carries a heart shaped patch i made him in his bag, it matches my tattoo! and he keeps a pair of dice for luck that he stole from a casino the first time he and art went to las vegas.

fox keeps a skelanimals backpack. she wanted foxy, but all they had at hot topic was kit, which is her second favorite skelanimal. she keeps eyeliner and mascara in case her makeup smears and needs to get fixed. at all times she keeps the strength tarot card, which is a random one that patrick found and a st. dymphna (patron saint of trauma recovery and mental health) medallion that art bought for her—she carries them for luck.
