Happy #3FatesFactFriday! This week’s fact is brought to you by 😈, and it happens to be her first fact ever! So most who know me know that I am a HUGE fan of horror films. Those same people also know that one of my all-time favorite TV shows is The Golden Girls. This fact is a wonderful combination of both. In September of 1988, the film Night of the Demons was released to a mixed response from critics at the time, though now it has obtained a cult following. The first film spawned 2 sequels and a 2009 remake, but that’s not what we’re talking about today. No, we are discussing the film’s lead, the one and only Amelia Kinkade. Amelia played the film’s leading lady Angela Franklin, who would go on to appear in both sequels. During filming of the first film, Amelia would have her aunt visit her on set. That aunt? That would be Rue McClanahan. That’s right, the Southern belle Blanche Devereaux herself. Pictured above is Kinkade, McClanahan and Night of the Demons director Kevin S. Tenney, which was taken during a break in filming. I wonder if Rue ended up visiting set when Amelia was in full demon makeup?
