Hi I saw you posting about 3foldbullet and I want to ask if it's like a name for the dynamic between Daniil and the Stamatins or is it something else? I've heard conflicting information

hiii darling so the term "3fold/threefold bullet" comes from a line in day 11 of pathologic classic hd bachelor route, from andrey. the #lore is that, after going after andrey to try to save him from the mutineers who have gotten him [they actually hadn't] and gotten shot, dankovsky going to speak to andrey will uncover that he was believed to be Andrey himself [actually peter because they mixed the twins up][don't worry about it just know they thought it was andrey(peter)][this makes sense]. this absolute banger of a conversation will then happen:

"Andrey Stamatin: There's also a rumour that Andrey Stamatin, the architect that had murdered every soldier in his studio yesterday and set fire to a stone stairway later, was just executed by the mutineers. That's when the assault began. What is that supposed to mean?

Bachelor: That was me.

Andrey Stamatin: So I am you! The furnace of this catastrophe has molded me, my brother, and you into a single person… The fire of war has molded us into a threefold bullet. It's natural. We are one. The three sides of a single process."

i don't know what kind of conflicting information you've been given, but that line refers explicitly to andrey, peter, and dankovsky. it can be interpreted in multiple ways [which is the point of symbolism], for me personally it's part of andrey's [& by extension peter's] desire to like Encompass dankovsky into being the third side of a single coin, in the same way he and peter are "both side of a same coin". it's andrey insisting they see eye to eye, are a same, can and must be as a unit (as during these days, the Mystery of the polyhedron is slowly being uncovered).

tldr:

dankovsky andrey peter Dynamic (or Static!) (however you want to interpret it) from one of andrey's most banger lines. sometimes it's a name to shorten the group and talk about the three of them all at once [as a unit = denomination, in the same way you'd say The Utopians, or The Oneirotects], sometimes it is used to talk about the precise dynamic between the three (typically the Three Make One / desire to Encompass).

hi im also stoned separate follower. threefold bullet meta has always been interesting to me because i love the idea of two guys who are one guy (but are also two guys) and sometimes theres a THIRD guy. MY two guys are one guy thing (but they are two guys) (but theyre not) is jekyll and hyde. not at all the same but the connection is mirrors. in my brain. anyways i think there should be more examples of guys who are 1 guy but not really. or are they. i wonder if there are more. so cool ok bye

OH YOU DONE FUCK UP NOW! and then with dankovsky they try again. three to become two to become one. to become one threefold like Janus is twofold. like Janus is bicephalic. become tricephalic, like Cerberus was written to be. but dankovsky's "we're not birds of a feather, you're absolutely mental", "keep your dumb head cool," and "You are also absolutely wild. A pointless atavism, evolutionarily speaking. I've been looking for a reason to tell you this since university" -> the rift. not pangea parting, now, but continental plates smashing. subduction zone, burying. collision zone, pushing one then two then three which becomes three-in-one towards the sky. (polyhedron. also mountain.)

Hey Grigri it’s deeply important to me that I share this with you. Anyway. Yesterday I got violently high, as one does, and found your post where you talk about Daniil being the third Stamatwin. (Fucking excellent post btw) It gave me THE most galaxy brained takes, but most importantly, led to me texting my twin brother “we gotta find the third twin and Eat him” with no context. So, in some small way, you played a part in the ongoing ordeal of terrorizing my brother.

this easily goes in the top 5 most powerful asks i've received i am choking with laughter. now that's the spirit. now THAT'S the spirit. and you know what since you liked it that much i'll add:

had andrey and peter eaten one of each other in the womb they'd have been fine. they'd have lived. you know that bad david cage game where a character has like a dead twin(? it's been a while since i heard of it) living in their mind and that dead mental twin can do telekinesis and shit. that would happen to them. and they'd be fine with it no like anguish or anything. in fact that would probably have been better for them. right. so they'd be fine. consumption is fine for them. as i've mentioned it's either consumption (not. literally. not in a cannibal way. i mean it as in like a... subsuming way. covering way. melding the person in their lives until all three are intertwined. as i've said: andrey's Threefold Bullet line, SO I AM YOU! etc) or elimination (they wouldn't Consume farkhad. he was like a bone in their throat. he was too tough to chew. so the other option...)

right? consuming farkhad they think would have given them balance. continuation. the bridge between the two of them. but he wasn't that. he was a thorn in their side instead of a bridge of flesh. they feel like they are/(should have been born) conjoined, and that third half is the bridge of flesh to bind them. and dankovsky. he does that, know? in a way he does. by his ending "Keep a close eye on Peter. You'd become desperate and turn into a villain without him" / "Hold Andrey's hand—or he may do something bad…" right. they're mental_asylum_pov_tiktok.mp4 about it.

they gotta eat him. it's a missing-piece trinity. the binding agent. digestive juice. you gotta eat him. it's the only way. what if they were hungry... would you keep food out of their mouths? would you starve them? look at this fucking thing.

read your response to that ask i send previously, about role swap AUs and Stakh as the fourth healer playable character... i didn't quite get your thought process in the part where you said Daniil the Changeling is like a third twin to Stamatins who they ate while in utero... but it was interesting to read your opinions anyway, thanks :0)

don't even worry about it. or do hold on i want to talk about it anyways i love to thinking about (even if not true) the twins as changelings esp as changelings like... of-each-other type of deal. NOT TRUE! this is not true. but them acting as such. the brother they have spoken into existence like clara spoke her sister. NOT TRUE! but imagine. i imagine sometimes they feel like it. always seeing themselves as "the bad twin" (the shadow, the second one etc) and the other as the one... ok now think of this with me. collecting these thoughts <- and merging them with Andrey's "So I am you! The furnace of this catastrophe has molded me, my brother, and you into a single person… [...] We are one"... with the concept of consumption or extermination (couldn't consume farkhad bc too tough to chew so they killed him, now consuming dankovsky by the "So I am you" ... the two twins changelings and now dankovsky Third Twin. assigned third half of a changeling existence by andrey. you don't hve to get it. look at me in the eyes. Hello again from the third twin anon. Twin brother says he’s down to find and eat the third twin, most importantly. The man didn’t even ask context, just “yeah sure I’m down.” Incredible energy. Love him. Also, to add: Dankovsky as the third Stamatwin would be an impossible miracle in and of itself. There’s only two twins, otherwise they’d be, by definition, triplets. But the whole thing isn’t meant to be logical. A third twin would be a 2D object in 3D space or maybe the other way around. Either way, it would just be another impossible creation. A preordained man-made miracle, if you will. Also, I don’t get high very often, but when I do, it will be in your honor [salute emoji]

now THAT'S what i want to fucking HEAR. that's the spirit. that's the twinsies behavior this blog encourages.

2. also You get it. that's why i say The Third Twin and not the triplet. it's an assimilated soul. it's a metaphor. it's against the Law in the same way the Tower is. it's a living contradiction in the same way a Tower not bound by the ways of gravity is. third half. fourth third. bridge. rope. defined passageway of the window. load-bearing pole holding up a house that stands on its roof. you know. usual stamatin-related stuff.

HI MA’AM sorry I’m late for threefold bullet class but still. do you think that threefold bullet is about solving the conflict of dualism? i mean if we’re talking about twins suffering from each other and at the same time are stick together, can we call dankovsky as a unique catalyst for balance/a new idea of being as much separated as being nearly one person/the ideal reflection of stamatin’s ideas….

hello darling i'm gonna try to be coherent i'm still very seepy (YES at 3pm i overslept big time) ok so basically

i think it is less about solving the conflict of dualism that about trying to solve the conflit of dualism. in the same way the game is less about Curing The Plague than trying to cure the Plague. ykwim. andrey is trying to make of daniil a bridge which is why he's so passionate about the polyhedron when daniil asks him about what the fuck these plans are, and get almost like. huffy puffy when daniil doesn't seem to get it. because he needs him to get it. dankovsky is a catalyst for a new type of balance, of interpersonal relationship(s, many in one, one as many), but whether or not it actually fucking works is out of andrey's hands. it's in ours. the player. because we decide what dankovsky replies to him. in a way, it only matters superficially, because the story will end the same regardless. there is no "friendship meter" on andrey or peter which will fundamentally change the outcome of the story from different dialogues. however it is intrinsic to our experience of the game and to how we shape the relationship (as player).

the twins see themselves into him, we have hints over and over of it in dialogue. it's why they trust him with the polyhedron. because he can get it, he could, but does he? can he? does he, truly, or does he come to this mystical and incomprehensible structure trying to rationalize it? trying to rationalize it at first? how long can he rationalize it? andrey goes SO I AM YOU! at the end of the Bachelor route, in which Dankovsky gets a specific idea about the Polyhedron. within the Haruspex route, the one "technically" after the Bachelor's, his idea of the Tower has slightly changed. he is more willing to indulge, in a small way, with its Mystical qualities.

tldr threefold bullet To Me is less about solving conflict than about trying to solve conflict, and this involves the possibility of failing. at the end of his route, dankovsky can tell both twins to stay by each other lest the other goes balls to the wall insane, but it is mending the bond if he asks them to please oh please try to make it work?

everytime you have a two, you can have a dichotomy. nice dichotomy idiot what lies outside of it... etc.

hi, what do you think of role swap AUs? (like: Artemy is the Bachelor, Clara is the Haruspex, Daniil is the Changeling; and the other where Clara is the Bachelor, Daniil is the Haruspex and Artemy is the Cahngeling).

and additionally: i keep having this thought that perhaps Rubin should've had a bigger role in the plot and it would actually make a lot of sense for him to be one of the playable charcaters... do you think that would work? because he's described as one of the only four healers in the town, and he's not the playable character while the others are. like that's not really a complaint, but i think this would be nice to have him as a playable character and maybe see his own personal perspective of what happens... also that would be super funny to play as him in Pathologic Classic HD since he would be so goddamn tall... what would the world look like from his POV...

hii bestie well i was literally talking about it to someone so let me like condense my/our thoughts since we're relatively in accordance on that

while i love the concept of role-swapped AUs and especially the like. character design choices (?) that come from it (are you crazy i love character design and fashion choices. i'm putting everyone in horse-riding gear rn) if you try to like weave them into a story it can be more like. tricky. the thing with AUs or at least how i see them, is that some parts of the original character remains right. including but not limited too racial/ethnic belonging which is something intrinsic to Burakh's story, for example. Burakh's Haruspex title (he who cuts up animals for divination) is inseparable from his Menkhu title, which is that, and is intrinsically woven into the fact that he's Indigenous, reconnecting on a way, being (re)welcomed into the Kin, etc. if someone else becomes the Haruspex in a role swap AU, do they lose the menkhu part which is intrinsic to Burakh? are they now Kin, or are they something else entirely? what do you do with the obvious matters of class between Dankovsky as Bachelor and Burakh as Haruspex; class divide that exists in part because Burakh's family, the Kin, is oppressed on a racial/ethnic basis which then trickles down as an economic/class divide?

i think role swaps AUs for them are sho sho interesting to see what they would look like and how they would behave which each other but when you try to imbricate them into the story, it becomes Headache Inducing... to me personally. slaps, by all means. but lord. you try rewriting that story with basically all character relations and backstory changed...

i do be gigglin about Dankovsky as Changeling because i see whatever tf he and the twins have going as He's The Third Twin right. like they'd have eaten him while in the womb (positive). & since you know how i depict the twins (shapeshiftin.. like so on and so forth).... oh the threefold changelining. ooh your child has been stolen and replaced by another one. no another one. no an[...]

& Rubin as a playable character i think would be so fucking funny. in no small part because you are half a body taller than everyone else. no more crouching animation to talk to the kids, this time he's lying prone on his elbows to chat. & i think he would have so much going on... so much potential.. the secrecy... the desecration of simon's body... seeing his internal thoughts like burakh's mind-map in p2 would be crazy... if you take the p2 events of His Ass Being Wanted i can imagine the combat system but you'd have a strength buff from being 206cm [he has to be 206cm in p2 world too i am so so mad they shrunk him. honey they shrunk the rubin]. his grief... oooh his grief... of his father figure/mentor/ooh the grief. his knowledge of the town as it changed that burakh didn't see... ooh etc etc
