Last week I finished my first game since Threes. It’s a computer game and you can download it here.
I have a lot of feelings about this tiny game, but they are all tiny feelings so I will put them into tiny bullet points:
People seem to like it!
Releasing this little game was incredibly satisfying because it proved to me that there’s a place in the world for microgames.
The game took two weeks to make, but there were two months in the middle where I didn’t touch it at all. Those months were essential.
Making games accessible is very time-intensive, so I decided to make the game overtly inaccessible. Framing the game as an ancient piece of software solved literally every usability problem.
This is my first solo game. I did all the programming, art, and crappy sound synthesizing. It’s been uncomfortable talking about “my game” instead of “our game.” I’m not sure I’ll do it again.
This is my first game with a big secret in it! I’m definitely doing that again.
That floppy is completely photoshopped.
