His train of thought was dispersed with the teasing presence of skin, and what tantalizing blood was beneath… or what /more/ there could be. Normally, the blood of a pirate would be out of the question, but with all the sweet drinks they had over the course of the evening, the touch of alcohol among the sugary blood was almost…savory. He couldn’t believe she’d allow him a taste so earlier in the relationship. Songs just for him, drink, and the blood of a beautiful woman? Was this love??“Save those kind words for later. You’re /far/ too generous with compliments. Keep talking and you’ll miss the opportunity for something… more than just a song.”
Well, he wasn’t sure. The woman had kept her fingers there just long enough for Lancer to get the hint, but when he opened his mouth, they were pulled away. He could only frown up at her. Rider sat on the armrest of the sofa, one arm draped along the back. Legs crossed were rested comfortably across the Lancer who was content on the cushion with his arms folded on her lap. One of Lancer’s hands moved from its place over his heart. He leaned forward as if to cast himself under her light and tilted his head pathetically.
“What a foul vamp; staking me through my own heart with action as light as the sea spray that brought her to me. A cruel gift, being these things at once.How could the sound of heaven be contained in such a villain. Beseech me, God and I may confess. What is she? ” When he spoke, Rider looked up from checking the puncture wounds on her fingers to see Lancer’s sad murder happy puppy™ face staring back at her. Any soreness from the bites was soon forgotten. She was laughing, pleasant and honest. Wasn’t he dramatic! If anything, the booze made it worse, but it was no less entertaining. Oh, he made this too fun and easy for her. Bottles,cartons, and glasses were strewn about the whole room, precariously placed around objects of interest or worth in value. Where something might have been, a glass was there. Rider had made quick work in her assessment and procurement of items in what she guessed to be Lancer’s Master’s quarters for the War. It took her time and lots of drinks, but was worth it. All this information! She enjoyed playing along. She wasn’t sure how long she would keep up with his manner of speech, then again. Holy Grail Wars tended to be short. Lancer would fall right into her hands with the right words and song. Might as well milk it.
And so he did, both figuratively and literally. Rider leaned against the back of the sofa with a gracious smile. She placed her hand against his jaw and armored gentleman’s mood seemed to brighten. Much better. Despite what a mess the Lancer was, his emotions clearly showed. Nothing to hide, Rider liked that. “Now that’s something I think I can answer for you,” Rider hummed, guiding Lancer with her touch back to sitting up. In her other hand she rested her cheek. “ Call me a villain all you wish but you cant deny how I’ve stolen your heart tonight. I don’t think you need God’s permission when looking for a wife,no? “ Rider whispered, leaning to plant a delicate kiss at his temple. She winked. “ That is, if ye accept my proposal. We can be wed outside.”
“Wiiiiiiiiiffffffffffffe?” Lancer echoed, wide-eyed in shock. He looked enraptured at the idea. If Rider wasn’t in his way,he was ready to leap from his seat. It took Rider all her power not to bust out laughing once more. She merely nodded.“Yes. And If I could know my husband’s name,” she added impishly, ” I’d sing his name for the whole city to know of his endeavors and impalements.”
Lancer was fast to react, but Rider moreso, pressing her fingers back to his lip with a giggle before he could speak again..“ Later,“ she chimed.Well, that’d be too easy.
