Combing through a thrift store DVD section and noticed a case with an odd-looking insert so I pulled it out. This isn’t just bootleg, it’s nothing but a label on a disc with no foil (aka the layer where the actual movie is)

But I do love the choice of movies to pull this with. Really engaging with the themes

Not bait yall into Backroomsposting but in all seriousness, our secret warehouse storage rooms in the back at the thrift store do periodically manifest things that nobody knows where they came from

Somebody left a skull candle outside on a day hot enough to melt it

Why do I feel like if you hung a key on each key hook you’d unlock a boss fight

This thing would have blown my fucking mind when I was in the target age group

Me at the thrift store to a coworker: hey, my sense of smell isn’t great at identifying things, but yours is. Somebody donated this purple candle and all I can say is it smells like purple.

Coworker who has previously picked up a candle and identified ten-part smell harmonies of herbs, flowers, and fruits I’ve never heard of: *smells the candle a couple times* huh.

Me: what does it smell like?

Coworker: purple.

(Eventually we identified it:

(Not this brand but def some kind of synthetic grape soda/candy scent)

Somebody donated a tiny yellow pitcher that looked just like a The Cheat. I had already put it out on the shelf when it occurred to me I could sharpie it into a him but somebody bought it within the first couple of minutes (presumably to take home and sharpie into a him)

Shocked that it took me nine months working at a thrift store to see it but somebody finally donated some VHS porn
