The Vulcan Summer gang all coloured up!

Samir, K’mpec, and Thriyev did not grow up on Vulcan so their parents decided one year to send them to stay with their responsible older cousin T’Pora to learn more about Vulcan values. Little did they realize that T’Pora’s main goal this summer is to explore her messy emotional renegade teenage lesbian side. Shenanigans ensue.

Vulcan Summer Gang's genders, for context:

T'Pora: cis lesbian. Has complicated feelins about the concepts of girl/woman outside of a lesbian context. Lots of baggage there on a Vulcan social level.

Thriyev: cis+ chan. On earth she's a girl, on Andoria she's a chan. Like a person picking a new name when they go live somewhere with a new language, she decided long ago she liked the vibe of human girlhood.

Samir: boy, cis+. Has spent some time exploring gender expression in many ways, currently vibing with being a feminine boy but feels that could change again in the future

K'mpec: trans boy. Of course this DIY king would not restrict himself to factory settings. The only things he didn't like about his transition process was that the surgeon who did his top surgery would not let him place his own sutures.

As promised, the family tree!

I didn’t write this on the image so it would be as streamlined as possible, but:

-Samir’s moms were married to each other for a while before they met—and subsequently decided to marry—Thriyev’s Zhavey and Thavan. Samir and Thriyev were already born at this point, though still each quite young. I still haven’t decided where their whole blended family settled down though…

-Samir is his moms’ biological child. One of his moms has Arab roots and they picked the name Samir for him because it is coincidentally both an Arabic and a Vulcan name

-Thriyev has at least one half sibling on her Shreya & Chavan’s side (those two remarried some other people)

-Damn, Thriyev has 4 bio parents and 4 step-parents

-T’Pora’s mom and Samir’s first mom have a good sibling relationship. Samir’s mom is the older of the two, though T’Pora’s mom got married and had a kid first

-Also I just decided that T’Pora’s dad and K’mpec’s dad are twins.

-K’mpec’s Dad moved to Qo’noS for university, met a wonderfully violent, warm, and self-assured woman, and never looked back. He happily became the main caregiver after K’mpec was born and discovered he loves being a house spouse

-T’Pora’s parents are the most traditional of all the kids’ parents, though the grandparent generation considers them to be irresponsibly spontaneous because they got married and had a kid relatively young and quickly (at least one of them breaking off a pre-existing family-chosen betrothal to do it)
