Thrombophlebitis - Herbal Help
Thrombophlebitis is inflammation of the main veins in the lower leg segments (rarely in other locations). Causes include: varicose veins, trauma and local infections. As a result of the slower blood flow, conditions are created for formation of a blood clot. The disease is characterized by swelling of the feet, reddened skin, fever, leg pain. Treatment is complex and requires taking medication against swelling, pain and inflammation. Healing with herbs and natural products are widely used.
Mix 1: Lungwort -40 grams, Verbena -30 grams, Roots of rabbit thorn -50 grams, Nettle leaves -60 grams, Walnut leaves -60 grams, Fruits of horse chestnut -80 grams, Plantain -60 grams, St. John’s wort -40 grams, Woundwort -30 grams. Mix two tablespoons of the mixture and pour them with 1/2 liters of boiling water. Soak for 1 hour and drink in one cup before meals, three times a day.
Prepare a mixture of: Fruits of horse chestnut -80 grams, Horsetail -60 grams, Peel of hazel -80 grams, Birch bark – 60g, Komuniga stems -40 grams, Nettle leaves -80 grams. Four tablespoons of the mixture are boiled in 2 liters of water for 10 minutes. Make compresses or baths for the thrombosis.
Mix 3: Equal amounts leaves of: coltsfoot, plantain, nettle, walnut and roots of burdock and dandelion, mixed and 5 tablespoons of the mixture are boiled in 3 l water for 10 minutes. Strain and make baths for the legs in a 2 weeks time.
