If there’s anyone who radiates steady progress, unprecedented growth & success, and awe-inspiring longevity and dependability, its Armando Cabral. THROWBACK BROTHERS in BLUE - ROOFLESS CONCEPT ART . To wrap up 30 plus days of posting Blue throwback joints, here’s another piece of concept art from our musical in development, “Roofless,” an award-winning stage musical that is currently be reconstructed as a limited series for screen. Its aptly titled “Marquee and Lil Man on the scaffold,” lol… makes sense. In this musical things usually aren’t what they seem tho. One thing is for sure though, the underlying concept of this piece is the storyteller. Keep following TuTchT and our production company LoJoWerkz for one helluva story. (Another musical project based on the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 is currently ahead of “Roofless” in the pipeline —- and THAT’s a helluva story!!!) . THROWBACK BROTHERS in BLUE - FERNANDO CABRAL . This is the second frame of a Fernando Cabral throwback triptych. Fernando, the younger of the massively impactful Cabral brothers, has built what is arguably the longest, most consistently top-tier modeling career of any male model of color of this generation. As I looked through my TuTchT archives to find blueish posts from the past I realized that I have literally hundreds upon hundreds of photos of Fernando on file, from his first H&M shoot with older brother Armando in 2010 to his most recent work for COS which will drop in a couple weeks. . If some supernatural lab was tasked with creating the perfect formula for the ideal male model, the countless ingredients, obvious and hidden, can all be found in perfect balance in Fernando Cabral. Instead of delineating all these qualities, I’ll just let his work speak for itself for these three TuTchT images. . This second portrait of the 3-panel triptych was designed from Fernando’s work with Barney’s FW16 line. I first which I first posted as a congratulations on Oct of 2016 when he won GQ’s Man of the Year, Portugal. Another favorite portrait from my 2015 “Chill” series (see previous post) was of one of my favorite models and favorite fam in the industry, Reefy the peace maker, (better known in the proper Fashion world as the proper Mr. Chariffe Greaves.) . Reefy has stepped fully into the next chapter of his life as an emcee with some very dope audio offerings to the ears of the planet & some incredibly well-produced vids to match the flow. THROWBACK BROTHERS in BLUE - MAC PHIRI . In July of 2015 after a record run of sweltering 100+ degree days, I created a group of icy blue portraits in a “Chill” series. This joint of Brit brother Mac Phiri was one of outstanding results of the aforementioned chilling. . Mac Phiri was discovered and signed in 2013 & climbed to the upper ranks of male models of color at a point in the industry when London’s AMCK agency signed a board full of amazing black male models. This joint was designed from one of the uncredited shots in Mac’s AMCK portfolio. In recent years the internationally celebrated Mr. Phiri has largely stepped back from the industry whirlwind, shifting his focus to other interests, foraying his celebrity to his music career and event planning. . THROWBACK BROTHERS in BLUE - GEORGE OKENY . Last October I posted a special Red, White and Blue portrait of my brother George on the occasion of him receiving his official US citizenship. He’s an amazing model with an equally amazing backstory. He escaped war-ravaged Sudan as a child, eventually immigrating to the US where he has flourished. Chief among his MANY accomplishments in the industry is his son Zola, with moms Yanii Gough, also a very successful model/agent of Haitian-American heritage. Truly a son of America’s great diversity, Zola has the distinction of being the youngest Black male model, at 5 months old, to ever walk New York Fashion Week. Zola’s history-making premiere was at the invitation of quintessential American designer Ralph Lauren. (btw, his parents handled the “walking” part of his debut. haha.) This family gig was one of several shows and campaigns for Ralph Lauren. You’ve probably seen their billboards, vid and print ads across the country for the past couple years. . THROWBACK BROTHERS in BLUE - FALLOU GUEYE . This Milan-based Senegalese brother has been one of the top male models of color in Italy since he first burst on the scene around 2013. Among the many top brands he reps, he has been a favored mainstay model with Dolce & Gabbana since 2015.
