Page 22. ---- Get Another Break When Doctors Say He’s Insane --- Whitby, March 16. - Clifford McPherson, who broke his way into jail by tossing a brick through the show window of an Oshawa drug store and recently made his escape from the county jail, was declared insane when he appeared before Magistrate Willis yesterday. Dr. C. F. McGillivrary and Dr. G. L. MacDougall, who examined McPherson on request of the court, testified he was insane and dangerous if allowed to be at large. He will not face a charge of jail breaking.

Stevenson, 430 Ferguson avenue north, was arrested on Saturday on a charge of assaulting Constable Elliott while he was arresting a prisoner. It is alleged that he threw a brick but did not seriously injure the officer.

Newman Philptt, son of Rev. R. W. Philpott, was kicked on the jaw by a horse on Saturday afternoon and was seriously injured. His jaw was broken and several of his teeth knocked out. He was operated on at the City Hospital.
