Founded by Magnus Terrance in 1919 to assist in the psychological recuperation of soldiers after the first world war. Since then the hospital has seen many changes in it's time, going bankrupt in 1959 and closing.
The hospital was reopened in 1982 after over twenty years of closure by Elizabeth Holden. Originally set out to be an orphanage for children who needed a home. It was later changed in the plans to look after children who had been neglected by orphanages and families. Children and young people up to the age of 21 that needed psychological help and care.
With access to therapists and doctors alike this home had proven over the years to be highly beneficial in developing troubled young people into bright young adults. It provides a family atmosphere for all patients no matter what their diagnosis may be or how long they stay!
