And here we have our final two, Louna and Lia!
For our last challenge. we asked for a simple picture just so you can get to know our top two.
We are currently debating who should be the winner basing our decision on the entire performance of both models throughout the race.
We would love to hear your opinion as well!
We will soon have our first winner of the season, stay tuned!
why is the pointless love interest added to stir up drama always a punk-looking boy with long hair who plays guitar
damn they’re really pushing the sw parallels with the Dark Side
Alright, so months back, I was convinced that by the end of Trollhunters, Strickler had to die. Now, he’s one of my favorite characters because he’s one of the most layered ones in the show, so I obviously didn’t want him to die. However, I was just so used to the fact that in most cases, as far as shows like this go, the ex-villain has the redeeming moment that usually leads to their death, mostly sacrificing themselves in favor of saving someone else’s life. Plus, there was also that fact that in season two Arrrgh was brought back from what everyone had believed to be his death, and normally that kind of thing comes with a heavy trade off. On top of that, I’m a fan of Guillermo Del Toro’s many other works too and many of the fantasy genre had intense endings that are dark, like Pan’s Labyrinth, or semi-tragic endings, such as Crimson Peak and Hellboy The Golden Army. (I’m very biased in this regard, cause I’m a sucker for Thomas Sharpe and Abe Sapien).
That changed though when I went and saw The Shape of Water. Now I assumed the ending would be rather tragic especially giving the ending to Crimson Peak. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the Shape of Water had a happy ending, where the “monster” gets the girl, or the girl gets the “monster”. Like after the initial excitement and shock of seeing this movie it really clicked in my head that Del Toro is genuine about his beliefs in a world where monsters and people coexist, because he didn’t just torture the two character and give their love story a tragic ending. He’s said his inspiration involved having seen the Creature from the Black Lagoon as a child and wishing that the creature and the girl had ended up together. It really showed when the Shape of Water had a happy ending. I realized, damn, maybe Strickler doesn’t have to die. Maybe Del Toro will carry on the idea of “monsters” and humans together.
And then that blessed human being hit us with the third season of Trollhunters and it was honestly everything I could have ever wanted. Practically everything, and I mean everything, came full circle by the end of the show, and it’s literally one of the most satisfying things to have ever been witnessed.
