I somehow feel like I both rushed and spent way too much time on this lmao. Please do not judge my last minute colour and font choices.

Like many anime, Fushigi Yugi had vocal albums featuring thematic songs sung by the characters. It also had… THTC.

THTC was an official joke where the Suzaku Celestial Warriors Tamahome, Hotohori, Tasuki and Chichiri formed a boyband in ancient fantasyland China and made a song, Meccha Hajikete Gattsu Tobashite. It features lyrics about how cool they are and how they get stuff done, and sounds exactly as badass as you might imagine, with singing periodically interrupted by a hilarious conversation between the characters.

A few days ago I stumbled on a fanmade music video where the song was synced to animation from the series (see: previous post). After I stopped dying of laughter, I sent the link off to friends. Responses ranged from "It's been over 20 years since I heard this song good gravy" to "what... what is happening" to "OMG I did not know this existed THIS IS AMAZING".

What’s especially great is that the song was actually released under THTC, as opposed to the voice actors or even the characters. So if you search online, various websites will show you that there is a group called THTC, and Meccha Hajikete Gattsu Tobashite is their only single. Even the BBC music website lists them.

If there’s ever a Fushigi Yugi remake, please bring back THTC and let them fulfill their dream of going on tour! /petitionI’mtoolazytomake

It’s truly amazing the things you can find on the Internet during spirals down memory lane. I cannot believe somebody made a music video of this. I mean, I can, but it’s still amazing.

In other words, I lost it in the first two seconds as soon as Tasuki yelled “WE ARE THTC!!”

Meccha Hajikete Gattsu Tobashite was the first - and only - single from THTC: Tamahome - Hotohori - Tasuki - Chichiri. (This is understandable since they are all basically fictional people from a work of fiction within a work of fiction. Oh, that and half the group is technically dead.)

This was released during the post-series Fushigi Yugi OVA period. These guys supposedly attempted to form a boy band/idol group, and the song is interspersed with a hilarious conversation about things like Hotohori being reluctant to sing this kind of song, how come Tamahome gets to be the first “T”, touring the kingdom of Konan if their single is successful, and then ends with Tasuki and Chichiri gearing up for their duet since they’re the only surviving members.

The AMV only has subtitles for the dialogue, so here are two full translations of the entire song. The lyrics are hilarious.

The Hamasaki family is a massive one, so let's just focus on the main branch for now. This is Heloise Hamasaki's immediate family, Parents; Jiro and Daphne Hamasaki, her brother Alphonse and her eldest brother Yohann, his wife Nessa, and daughter Amiee.

The Hallowed: Divine Children

The hallowed are the direct result of the gods and mortals being in a silly goofy mood- union, and like many mythos and such, I had decided that these beings would inherit their parental’s traits. The gods themselves are monstrous beings, their main traits being various versions of horns and colorful skin, which is naturally passed down to their kin. However, the further down the line generations go, the traits slowly disappear. The blood of gods is easily diluted in humans.

Most Hallowed can tell their parentage based off of their skin hue, as the gods all have their own color. For example, the children of Ohesis will have purple hues while children of Eona will have pink hues. children of two different hallowed would result in mixture of colors or a singular one of their parents. Although the horns and hues will be passed along, there is a very slim possibility of powers being passed as well. These powers aren’t big by any means, but can range from great intuition to the ability to heal a bit faster.

The gods are not the best parents, most of them never see their children more than once in their lives, while others visit every year. The gods physically cannot be on the mortal plane for longer than a few days at a time as they are not native to the world in the first place. Hence, why most hallowed do not expect to see their parent at all. Any hallowed can see their parent if they are to become a Haloist, a subsection of Seer and servants to gods. These people have the ability to commune with the gods better than others. In the past most Hallowed would become Haloist to be with their parents, but the process was more complicated than they expected. Nowadays, Hallowed visit temples if they wish to commune with their parent or never see them again.

Who wants a shirt?

Got my wholsaler prices from a company that makes Hemp shirts.. going to get serious about cleaning the garage real quick and then I might go ahead and order both my work bench/table from lowes and my first batch of shirts to start working on. I've got a few I grabbed from hobby lobby to test drive with before i start printing on the Hemp shirts. If i can't sell them outright i might apply to set up a booth at the cannabis festival in Orlando and try to sell some merchandise there.

Now my only problem is how many to order?? The wholesale prices will make you drool.. but the price is the same whether I order 50-599 but I definitely can't move 599 right off the bat. But I feel like only getting 50 is going way too small? When I could get 599 for the same price? Originally I was going to do 50 men's and 50 women's shirts but maybe I should do 100 each? Even if I can't sell my brand I could do custom t-shirts for a bit.

Oh god, and how many of each color and how many of each size? Where's a graph showing what shirt sizes and colors get bought the most???
